A MESSAGE FROM THE CEOCongratulations to Donnie and her amazing team in Encore for once again offering such an amazing Seafood Buffet in January. We will be continuing the promotion on the last Saturday of each month with the next event to be held on Saturday 29th February. We have two seatings commencing at 5.00pm and 7.30pm respectively. Book early as this event sells out quickly.

Our first draws are set to commence in February in our ‘Dare to Dream’ promotion, offering members the chance to win 1 of 5, $10,000 holiday packages or $7,000 cash. Earn entries every time you spend $5 in the Bars and Restaurants and $10 in Gaming. The fun and games commence 8th February at 7.00pm and members must be present at the time of draw.

Upcoming events in GEC include the Gladstone Travel Expo, March 8th 2020, Inspiring Resilient Women Lunch March 10th 2020 and Australia’s most loved psychic medium, Deb Webber will be joining us May 15th 2020. Further details are included in this edition of Member’s News.

In January the team introduced a ‘pop up’ lifestyle offering at Lake Awoonga Boating in Leisure. This is available to all Lifestyle members through till the end of March. Why not throw the kids in the car and support this great local initiative.

“As a Social Enterprise of GCLA, the ie cafe was a big step for the Incredible Edibles team and we are all so proud how they have grown and developed. Adapting from a small catering business to learning new skills required to work in a fast-paced kitchen serving directly to the public, which was uncharted territory for the team.”

By including Saturday trade, the team have just recruited a few new team members, showing GCLA’s commitment to provide more employment opportunities for individuals living with a disability.

Team Leader of the cafe, Colette Giha Carella, said the team are gearing up for the extra day of trade and are ready to welcome new and old customers to the cafe.

“To mark our first official Saturday open, we launched our ‘Parma for a Farmer’ deal, as part of ie’s contribution to the annual Rural Aid’s fundraising appeal.” They are hoping to raise much needed funds for our farmers, with $4 from every ‘parma’ going to the appeal. This initiative has been running sonce November.
