SPORTS

NSTSE

Unlike regular tests which try only to find out how much a child knows (or has memorized), NSTSE measures

how well a student has understood the concepts and gives detailed feedback so that immediate action can be

taken to correct the aberration and pave a path for improvement.

So to provide valuable and detailed diagnostic reports for specific improvement and further development of

our students „National Level Science Talent Search Examination‟ (NSTSE) was conducted in our school on

24th January 2018. We encouraged our students to participate in the exam as well as provided them enrich-

ment classes. With their talent, hard work and proper guidance our students came out with flying colours.

Three of our students have brought laurels for the school. Master Bijo John (class X) has secured 86th rank of

the top 100 National Achievers of class X, Master Naveen S Kumar (class X ) has got 3rd rank of the class X

across all countries excluding India and Master Anirudh Babu (class XI PCB) has secured 2nd rank of class

XI across all countries excluding India.

Parent -Teacher Meetings were conducted on 14th Oct.2017 and 10th Feb.2018 to create a common plat-

form, where teachers and parents come together to enrich the students‟ educational experiences and discuss

variety of issues, regarding the all-round development of the students. In PTM, the parents were given feed-

back on their wards‟ performance in periodic tests and during classroom activities.

It was a great interaction between the teachers and the parents for the development of their children where

they discussed both the strengths and the area of improvement. In this session, we have initiated ILP( Individ-

ual Learning Programme) for the low performing students to help them in their subjects individually. We also

had some interactive sessions under the supervision of the Principal with the parents to seek their cooperation

for the betterment of their wards. We take this opportunity to whole heartedly thank our parent fraternity for

their kind support and encouragement.

As we all know that competitive sports activities help to teach teamwork which translates into selflessness,

cooperation and better communication skills. The structure of game fosters important life skills, such as lead-

ership, goal-setting and time-management skills. Moreover, when children go together to a particular field

trip, it gives them a choice to socialize with each other. So to ensure the holistic development of the students,

YIS organized a field trip to Via Court Academy, Riyadh on 28th December,2017.All the students enjoyed the

field trip with great enthusiasm.
