Kaiser Unite in Marriage I Seldom has a prettier sweeter or simpler wedding been solemnized in Ocala than that uniting the destinies- of Mr Grover Cleveland Spencer and Miss Mary Kaiser The wedding took place at9 oclock Wednesday night at the Hotel de Kaiser which is run by Mr and Mrs Robert Kaiser parents of the bride The ceremony took place in the par lor which was very prettily and i tastefully decorated Rev C C Car- roll ¬ of the Baptist church officiated- and I the ceremony was a very pretty- one The bride is a beautiful blonde and in her wedding gown of white silk over accordion pleated chiffon I taffeta she was certainly as fair and I sweet a picture as one would wish to I see She carried a bouquet of bride j roses tied with white satin streamers j Since coming to Ocala from f Atlanta with her parents about three j years ago she has made made many I friends and admirers here who are I very much interested in her future- I I happiness j The happy groom is the second son of Mr and Mrs Edwin Spencer and I has a position in the dry goods de ¬ partment of the H B Masters de- l ¬ partment store and is well thought of by his employers He is young and ambitious and his friends hope he will be as successful in all things as he was in the winning of a wife The bride was attended by her sister- i i Miss Gertrude Kaiser who wore a I pretty white silk dress and carried pink roses M r Carl W Wishart of the Stucky Tiller Company at I Montague was Mr Spencers best I man I The marriage was witnessed by I about twentyfive of the friends of the young couple and after the words I I that made them man and wife they I were heartily congratulated and I many good wishes were expressed I After the ceremony the guests were invited to the dining hallwhich- was decorated with many garlands of bamboo and other vines and were seated at a large table bountifully- laden with all manner of good things I to eat which were heartily enjoyed- by the wedding guests During the supper Mr Frank Har ¬ ris was called on and proposed a toast to the health of the bride and groom I which was heartily responded to by i all MrandMrs Spencer received quite a number of pretty presents among them being a set of pearl handle knives from Col H B Masters a handsome rocking chair from his fel- low ¬ employees at the Masters store- a I handsome piano from the brides parents a wicker cabinet from Mr I and Mrs H C Jones knives and i fork from Mrs G A Ofermichael i and many others too numerous for us i to mention i We extend to the newly married i couple our very heartiest congratula- tions I and trust that their life will be + a long and happy one t Mr and Mrs Spencer will in a few j days begin housekeeping in the- I cottage on Pine street north belong- I ¬ jug to Mr Louis Toffaletti and which has just been complete- dI I Geo G Mathews will give his I lecture on Brazil in this city next I Thursday evening the 29th at the Marion opera house A share of the I proceeds will be donated to the local chapter of the U D C V Mr Mathews is better able possibly than any other man in this section of the country to portray life in the South American republic having lived in Brazil many years part of which time represented the United States as consul at Para He illustrates his I lectures with what is said to be the finest collection of stereoptican views- Fort King avenue I having been summoned to go on a i H summer outing viz Misses Allie Van t Juhan Caro Liddon Nellie and I I Mary DaCosta of Gainesville Madge i Sims Sue Anderson Anna Mixon Ethel Robinson Janet Weathers Annie Davis Sara Violet and Louise I Harris Sallie Camp Edna Dozier I Pauline Sullivan Louise Scott Annie Mathews Sue Barco Bessie Porter and Eloise Miller and Messrs How ¬ ard and Harvey Clark Bruce Meffert I Stephen Jewett Charles T Brian of I Houston Texas Harry Palmer Ben Condon John Sullivan Sam Barco j Harry Walters John Juhan Robert I Mathews and Alfred Beck At the Zewadski home they were joined by the Messrs Zewadski and their guests Messrs Byron West of Jacksonville Leroy Giles of Orlan- do ¬ and Angus Birdsey of Macon for whom this pleasant affair was plann- ed The only thing that marred the outing was the absence of their I friends Messrs Alva Herzog Jack- sonville ¬ and William Whitney of I I Fernandina who were unable to I I come i I Mr and Mrs Zewadski Mrs Carrie I i Long and Miss Sue Barco met the i guests at the union station and in the I waiting room they were received by Messrs Osco and Guy Zewadski I Giles Birdsey and West and Misses i Sallie Camp Louse Scott Bessie Por ter Sue Anderson and Violet Harris after which they were shown the way to the lunch room where they were all treated to fruit punch The ticket office had been very neatly fixed up with colors of the Aris society to which these young s gentlemen belong and across the front of the office was draped a big Aris banner- Mr Zewadski sold the tickets there being two to each of the destinations- The girl and boy having tickets read- ing ¬ i to the same place became part- ners I and were shown to their train by the porters Clarence Zewadski and Willie Bullock Three stopovers were allowed and all were given thirty minutes to write J descriptive letters of their summer outing Olaf Zewadski and Julien Bullock were very excellent news butchers J andevery few minutes passed through I the cars vending their wares At the end of the thirty minutes I I the letters were read aloud Hon R i A Burford acting as judge These I letters were all excellent Mr Bur j ford said and he found some difficul- ty ¬ j in making a choice between sev- eral j but he had finally decided to j I award the prizes to Miss Violet liar ris and Harry Palmer who had de- scribed their wedding trip to the But i falo exposition I The prizes were a silver hat brush I and a fountain pen and in presenting I them Mr Burford made a few happy i remarks in leis Usual pleasing style I which always seem to come to him so I I easily and so unaifectedly We were especially requested to publish the letter that won the prize also several of others that received I honorable mention but our space precludes us doing so However we I make room for the prize Jetter telling- of the wedding journey to Buffalo Harry and I left Oeala on the Sea ¬ board at two oclock one early morn- ing ¬ bound for Buffalo to see the great exposition- We were on our wedding trip I I neglected to say so you may imag ine we wernt very much in for sight seSHigT All we wanted was to be atone so I guess we didnt select a very suitable place 4 We were showered with rice at the station by our thoughtful and loving friends so we we were known- at once as a bridal couple We stopp- ed in Jacksonville a day but instead- of looking around the city we were t Y tM fY Bft r satisfied to just look at each othe- rI have heard that Jacksonville is I a real nice little city but I shall have- to judge of that some other time From Jacksonville we went to New York bv boat and both of us were seasick We still had some rice on our hats and we found that our baggage was all beautifully deco ¬ rated with dainty white shoes and quantities of beautiful white ribbon which I expect to use for making girdles But when we arrived at New Yorkjust think of us being in that great big New Yorkwe hardly knew what to do there were so many things that we had heard about that we hardly knew where to begin We went to the Waldorf first and decided- we liked the looks of that hotel pret ¬ ty well so we settled there and planned a program for the day But wefinally decided we had just rather stay with each other so we didnt- see anything in New York but its a nice place though The next day we went down to Buffalo to see the exposition Just- as we got into the grounds we open- ed ¬ our umbrellas and were literally showered with rice that those thought- ful ¬ friends had put there We were quite embarrassed but we headed for the Pike to ride on the Senic rail ¬ way We were so fascinated with that that we decided to spend all of our time there I advise everyone- to ride on the Senic railway It is certainly a grand way to spend ones honeymoon Harrys money gave out so he de ¬ cided he had to get back home to work He wouldnt tell me he did ¬ nt have any money for he was afraid- I might immediately quit him We came back in a hurry He wouldnt- even let me buy any fruit on the cars and he wouldnt let me stop in Jack- sonville ¬ We just changed cars and came straight to Ocala after having spent a perfectly dear and swee- honeymoon and all the money we we could lay our hands on Buffalo must be a beautiful city from all I heard about it But we saw only each other After the letters were read a twen ¬ tyminute stopover was given The porters brought around delicious lunches salad crackers sandwiches and pickles done up in boxes and all left the cars and found various cozy places to eat the lunch that had been- so beautifully prepared Later in the evening ice cream and cake was served after which the guests were treated to some delight sul music Miss Camp and Miss Scott sang very sweetly Mr Giles played beautifully on the violin Mr Birdsey and Mr Guy Zewadski on the piano and Messrs Giles West Birdsey Osco and Guy Zewadski sang several popular and catchy sons The summer outing was one of the cleverest most unique and novel par ¬ ties that has ever been given in Ocala add the young people that enjoyed the hospitality of Mr and Mrs Ze ¬ wadski on this occasion are very en- thusiastic ¬ in their praise of it and of the good time they all enjoyed It was an exceedingly pleasant trip ii compliment to a group of very inter tere ting young men Rev Robt H Morris Graduates frum Princeton Rev Robert Hugh Morris I who was formerly the pastor of the Presbyte I rian church in this city and who has been attending Princeton University I for the past two years was graduated from that splendid institution on I Wednesday June 14th At that time I Mr Morris received the degree of- I master of arts and during the years t he spent at Princeton he made most I excellent record- At present Mr and Mrs Morris and their little son Robert are at Elmer N J On July first they go to New Brunswick N J where Mr Morris has been called to the Second Pres ¬ byterian church His many Ocala friends are bound for Buffalo to see the greatexposition-

We were on our wedding trip II neglected to say so you may imagine we wernt very much in for sightseSHigT All we wanted was to beatone so I guess we didnt select avery suitable place

ed in Jacksonville a day but instead-of looking around the city we were

a real nice little city but I shall have-

to judge of that some other timeFrom Jacksonville we went to

New York bv boat and both of uswere seasick We still had somerice on our hats and we found thatour baggage was all beautifully deco¬

rated with dainty white shoes andquantities of beautiful white ribbonwhich I expect to use for makinggirdles

But when we arrived at NewYorkjust think of us being in thatgreat big New Yorkwe hardlyknew what to do there were so manythings that we had heard about thatwe hardly knew where to begin Wewent to the Waldorf first and decided-we liked the looks of that hotel pret¬

ty well so we settled there andplanned a program for the day Butwefinally decided we had just ratherstay with each other so we didnt-see anything in New York but its anice place though

The next day we went down toBuffalo to see the exposition Just-as we got into the grounds we open-

our umbrellas and were literallyshowered with rice that those thought-ful

¬

friends had put there We werequite embarrassed but we headed forthe Pike to ride on the Senic rail ¬

way We were so fascinated withthat that we decided to spend all ofour time there I advise everyone-to ride on the Senic railway It iscertainly a grand way to spend oneshoneymoon

Harrys money gave out so he de ¬

cided he had to get back home towork He wouldnt tell me he did ¬

nt have any money for he was afraid-

I might immediately quit him Wecame back in a hurry He wouldnt-even let me buy any fruit on the carsand he wouldnt let me stop in Jack-sonville

We just changed cars andcame straight to Ocala after havingspent a perfectly dear and swee-

honeymoon and all the money wewe could lay our hands on Buffalomust be a beautiful city from all Iheard about it But we saw onlyeach other

After the letters were read a twen ¬

tyminute stopover was given Theporters brought around deliciouslunches salad crackers sandwichesand pickles done up in boxes and allleft the cars and found various cozyplaces to eat the lunch that had been-

so beautifully prepared

Later in the evening ice cream andcake was served after which theguests were treated to some delightsul music Miss Camp and Miss

Scott sang very sweetly Mr Gilesplayed beautifully on the violin MrBirdsey and Mr Guy Zewadski on

the piano and Messrs Giles WestBirdsey Osco and Guy Zewadski sangseveral popular and catchy sons

The summer outing was one of thecleverest most unique and novel par¬

ties that has ever been given in Ocalaadd the young people that enjoyedthe hospitality of Mr and Mrs Ze¬

wadski on this occasion are very en-

thusiastic

in their praise of it and ofthe good time they all enjoyed Itwas an exceedingly pleasant trip iicompliment to a group of very intertere ting young men
