Freedom70
We all feel proud to be Indian as a fastest developing Economy of the world. We are the largest and youngest democracy. The way we are progressing is because of sacrifices made by millions of freedom fighters, who braced violence peacefully, suffered atrocities with silent but eloquent bravery and stoically sacrificed their personal gain for the future generation. We must thank them all for the gift we got from our past few generations, who martyred themselves so that we have bright future. In pursuance of the decision to celebrate Independence Day as Independence festival, Ministry of Human Resource Development planned a series of events in educational institution across the country. It was decided that the period from 9th August , 2016 to 23rd August 2016 be celebrated as “Azadi 70- Yaad Karo Kurbani” (Freedom Fortnight) to re-instill the spirit of freedom struggle and national movement among the younger generation. Keeping this in mind and as per direction given by Hon. Director Dr. Sachin S Vernekar, various activities based on patriotic theme were planned. During Freedom70 fortnight various competitions were planned and organized by Dr. Vijay Phalke and Ms Pallavi Chopade. The schedule of various activities is as follows;
Date TIME Activity/Date
9/8/2016 4.30pm Patriotic Song
10/8/2016 4.30pm Patriotic Song
More than 1200 students participated in above given competitions.
Patriotic songs competition was held on 9th August and 10th August 2016 at IMED seminar hall. In this competition 37 students were participated. The students prepared well for the competition and a wide range of songs were presented. While the choice of songs ranged from the patriotic to the popular, it was interesting that each participant had worked hard to comprehend the lyrics and sing the songs with conviction. Their songs invoked a strong sense of patriotism in each one present at the venue. The room was resplendent with a feeling of belonging and pride. We discovered potential talent in singing from amongst our students and are very optimistic that these students will bring glory in the future. WINNERS
