Cable Burial Risk Assessment Guidance

Xodus Group were contracted to complete a wide ranging study

into the site investigations, trenching assessments and burial risk

assessments that are completed in the design stage of wind farm

projects

> New method quantified risk considering

– Shipping traffic patterns

– Vessel size

– Anchor impact probability

– Fishing gear

> Cost-benefit of burial is considered

> This method has become the new baseline approach



Caithness – Moray HVDC

Xodus Group provided Project Management of the subsea cable

installation contract, and also supported with Xodus staff on

various individual work scopes

> 1.2 GW, 320 kV HVDC cable system that traverses 113 km

across the Moray Firth in Scotland
