Alastair was able to be part of a team of six men that went to Tanzania at the end of April to in- stall a radio station. The journey took them through Amsterdam and Entebbe, Uganda. The station was installed in northwest Tanzania near the Uganda and Rwanda borders. Although Uganda was the nearest port of entry it did pose some logistical problems since it re- quired the team and the equipment to first clear customs in Uganda and then in Tanzania. By the time the team ar- rived at the Tanzanian border it was 8:00 pm on April 13th. This was the night before Good Friday and it was closed. They began to worry that they would need to spend the night at the border but after prayer and an hour of phone calls, they were given permis- sion to go forward without clearing customs under the conditions that they returned the next day to do so. The following day they returned and spent the day going through immigration and getting all the equipment through customs. This was not the only delay that they had. There were many set backs as they worked. Some of these were that the stores were closed over the Easter weekend, there were power outages, there were heavy rains that kept them off the tower, and there was a very limited supply of parts available to complete the job. Even with all these difficulties they were able to see God answer their prayers which resulted in the station being on the air by April 24th which was one day before they were to leave. Praise the Lord! This new station called, Promise Land Christian radio is located in the district of Karagwe and is expected to reach people liv- ing within a 150 km radius of the town. Please pray that it will be used to see many souls set free from the dominion of darkness and to bring hope into the lives of those who hear it. family that all the sisters now know Christ personally. The man on the team said he would never forget this moment and was deeply impacted by it.

Michael Roberts, from Quebec, recently returned from Albania. We arranged for him to go to help Tani Baraku set up his radio studio in the new building. Tani is the manager of Radio Emmanuel. (Alastair took a team last year to work on this building.) Tani was so happy with the work that Michael did. He said, “We had a great time with Michael here. He is a good brother and really hard-working. He finished up with the installation of the studios. Thank you for bringing people to help us with the ministry.” Praise God for good volunteers who are willing to go all over the world.

One of the things that Shelley does is call the team members who have gone on Galcom trips. It is amazing to hear the stories of what God does in the lives of people who go and in the lives of the people in the countries where the teams go to. Recently she spoke to a man who returned from Haiti. He said, “Even though I was actively involved in my church, I now see there is a greater purpose for my life. Since I returned, I am not just content with getting by in the Christian life anymore.” He and his wife are considering how they can get involved in full time Christian work. Another man told about leading a lady in a prayer of salvation. He said that there were three sisters in the room. One of them could not see but she knew that her sister was praying. As her sister prayed she had joyful tears streaming down her face. What a joy it was to the

Debriefing thoughts

The next three months are full of many things. We

will be representing Galcom at various places,

working in the office, planning mission trips, etc.

We have two trips going to Haiti, one in September

and one in October. At the end of May we will go to

Smith Falls to have a pre-field training meeting with

a team from a church there. This team is led by one

of our Galcom Volunteer Area Representatives (VAR).

Another team is going from Montreal in October. This

team is being led by another Galcom VAR. We are

blessed to work with these VARs who have big hearts

to serve God and proclaim His name around the world.

Please pray as we serve God here at Galcom that we

will not become weary in well doing but we will

continue to work hard so that many will hear the

Gospel of Jesus Christ in all the earth.

We appreciate each of you and your part in the

ministry that God has given to us.

Let the nations be glad!

Al and Shelley
