• Between $1 and $2 Trillion
• Most expensive War in History
• Property damage = $239 Billion
• U.S. National Debt rose from $42 billion to $269 billion in 1946
• U.S. spent 10x more than what they spent on all the previous wars put together
Casualties
• The Deadliest War Ever
• Civilians – 40-52 Million, 13-20 million of which suffered from disease or famine
• 6 million of those civilians were from Poland
• 22% of Poland’s total population was killed
• Military – 22-25 million, 5 million of which were prisoners of war
