This gave me the “wake up call” that I needed!! (No pun intended). My health became my biggest “WHY”! No More Sleepless Nights!

In January of 2017, I was diagnosed with severe sleep

apnea. During my sleep study I had over 600 episodes

in an 8‑hour period. My pulmonologist was even more

concerned with my central apnea. That’s where your

brain and your heart are adversely affected. This

gave me the “wake up call” that I needed!! (No pun

intended). My health became my biggest “WHY”!

I had had success with Weight Watchers in the past so

I decided I would follow the plan on my own. I shed 20

lbs. from the end of January to April. At that point, I

knew I needed the added accountability and support

that a “weigh‑in” in front of a WW staff would provide.

Also, I knew I needed the support from Connect and

Meeting attendance. So, the end of April 2017, I joined

Weight Watchers for the final time!

As of January 2018, I have successfully dropped 52

lbs. That’s not my only success ...

• I have entered ONEDERLAND

• Found new ways to be active (Pickle Ball and

Snowshoe)

• Most importantly though, I’ve reduced my number

of sleep episodes from 600+ per night down to less

than 10!! My pulmonologist says that once I hit goal, I

will more than likely be able to be taken off my CPAP:)

I will achieve goal in 2018. The struggle with weight

loss is REAL but WORTH IT.

2 Ingredient Bagels Ingredients

1cup self‑rising flour (or mix 1 cup all‑purpose flour + 1 1/2 tsp baking powder + 1/2 tsp table salt)

1 cup Fage nonfat plain Greek yogurt

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a large baking sheet with

parchment paper or silicone baking mat.

2. In a large bowl, add yogurt and flour. When measuring

out the yogurt, make sure that you strain out any liquid.

Any extra liquid sitting in your yogurt will cause the

dough to be too wet.

3. Using a large spoon or spatula, mix together flour and

yogurt until it begins to form a crumbly dough. Use your

hands to push the dough together into one ball. The

dough will be very sticky.

4. Cover your kneading surface with a sprinkle of flour and

knead the dough by hand (approximately 20 times) until

it is tacky and no longer sticky.

5. Divide dough into four equal balls. Roll out ball on a

lightly floured surface until it becomes a rope about

3/4 inch thick. Try to make the rope as even and smooth

as possible. Pinch ends shut to form a round circle.

Repeat with remaining dough.

6. Place bagels onto baking sheet. Brush tops with egg wash.

Sprinkle tops with whichever seasonings you prefer.
