Estado promoveu diversas ações pelo Brasil / The State promoted several workshops around Brazil
Th e workshop “Pernambuco é só chegar” (Pernambuco welcomes you) has created a good impression wherever it has been. Seven presentations took place in 2012, training more than 1,500 tourism professionals in the country. Th e project has been to the cities of Campo Grande (MS), Cuiabá (MT), Curitiba (PR), Porto Alegre (RS), Maringá (PR), Uberlândia (MG) and Goiânia (GO).
Last years success prompted the Tourism Company of Pernambuco – Empetur to extend this year’s program, from seven workshops held in 2012 to 12 this year. Th e workshops will go to cities like Brasília, Belo Horizonte, Florianópolis, Londrina, Ribeirão Preto, Campinas, Belém and Salvador – as well as, of course, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
“When you get to know Pernambuco better, it becomes easier for both the tour operator and the agent to sell the destination and its attractions. Today, tourism in Pernambuco goes
far beyond leisure. The state is the third best gastronomic centre in Brazil and the fi rst in the Northeast, it is the second best area for medical facilities and is promotes major international concerts”, says the Secretary of Tourism of Pernambuco, Alberto Feitosa. Th e choice of cities takes into consideration factors such as sales rankings of the major tour operators, the growth of these markets, the lack of major promotional events in these cities and the increase of daily flights to the destinations selected to be included in the program.
The president of Visual Turismo, Afonso Louro, highlights the importance of various promotions such as “Pernambuco welcomes you” to the strengthening of the state as a tourism destination. “Th e image of Pernambuco has been improving every day due to the restructuring and advertising work developed by the Department of Tourism. With that, there has been significant growth in demand for destinations in Pernambuco”, he says.
O workshop “Pernambuco é
só chegar” vem causando boa im-
pressão por onde passa. Em sete
apresentações feitas em 2012 foram
realizadas mais de 1.500 capacita-
ções com profi ssionais do setor de
turismo do País. O projeto passou
pelas cidades de Campo Grande
(MS), Cuiabá (MT), Curitiba (PR),
Porto Alegre (RS), Maringá (PR),
Uberlândia (MG) e Goiânia (GO).
O sucesso no ano passado motivou
a Empresa de Turismo de Pernambuco
– Empetur, a ampliar o calendário do
atrativos. Hoje, o turismo de Pernam-
buco vai muito além do lazer. O Estado
possui o terceiro polo gastronômico
do Brasil e o primeiro do Nordeste,
tem o segundo melhor polo de saúde
e está na rota dos principais shows
internacionais”, destaca o secretário
de Turismo de Pernambuco, Alberto
Feitosa. A escolha das cidades leva em
consideração fatores como o ranking
de vendas das principais operadoras, o
crescimento desses mercados, a falta de
grandes eventos promocionais nessas
Turismo, Afonso Louro, destaca a
importância de ações como o Per-
nambuco é só chegar para o forta-
lecimento do estado como destino.
“A imagem de Pernambuco vem
melhorando a cada dia em função do
trabalho de divulgação e reestrutura-
ção desenvolvido pela Secretaria de
Turismo. Com isso, houve um cresci-
mento signifi cativo na procura pelos
destinos de Pernambuco”, destaca.
Campanha Pernambuco é só chegar ganha o BrasilThe campaign “Pernambuco welcomes you” is a success in Brazil
To sell a destination, there is no better way than to visit it. Based on this premise, the Department of Tourism launched “Vivendo Pernambuco” (Living Pernambuco), a program that aims to offer a nature, culture and cuisine experience to travel agents, tour operators, specialized press and opinion leaders.
In 2012, more than 600 agents, operators, journalists, opinion leaders and other professionals participated in the project. Since 2008, when the program was launched, over 3000 professionals have been trained and they have had the opportunity to experience the attractions presented by Pernambuco.
The training consists of a trip of three to fi ve days to the major tourist destinations of the state, from the coast to the hinterland. During this period, the participants of fam tours promoted
by the Department of Tourism and the Tourism Company of Pernambuco (Empetur) go on technical visits to the hotels, bars and attractions. Th e program also includes a welcome lecture, food tasting and cultural experiences, a true immersion in the lifestyle and daily routine of people from Pernambuco.
“Th e result of these tours has aided in the continued growth of the fl ow of tourists to the state. Pernambuco is now the fastest growing state in percentage terms for the f low of tourists. While other North-eastern states have only two tourist seasons in the year, we have four: Carnival, Holy Week - with the largest outdoor theatre in the world, São João and Christmas in Gravatá and that is a distinction that needs to be disclosed”, says the State Secretary of Tourism, Alberto Feitosa.
nacional e internacional (agentes e
operadores), à imprensa especializada
e aos formadores de opinião uma
vivência dos atrativos turísticos do
Estado, como a natureza, a cultura e
a gastronomia, entre outros atrativos.
Em 2012, mais de 600 agentes,
operadores, jornalistas, formadores
de opinião, entre outros profi ssionais,
participaram do projeto.
cipais destinos turísticos do Estado,
do Litoral ao Sertão. Durante este
período, os participantes dos fam-
tours promovidos pela Secretaria
de Turismo e Empresa de Turismo
de Pernambuco (Empetur) reali-
zam visitas técnicas aos meios de
hospedagens, bares e pontos turís-
ticos. Também estão inclusos na
programação uma palestra de boas
vindas, degustação da gastronomia e
a vivência cultural, numa verdadeira
imersão no estilo de vida e no coti-
diano do pernambucano.
“O resultado dessas ações é o
crescimento contínuo do fluxo de
turistas para o Estado. Pernambuco
ristas. Enquanto os demais estados
do Nordeste têm apenas duas, nós
temos quatro estações turísticas no
ano: o Carnaval; a Semana Santa com
o maior teatro ao ar livre do mundo;
o São João e o Natal de Gravatá. E
isso é um diferencial que precisa
ser divulgado”, ressalta o secretário
estadual de Turismo, Alberto Feitosa.

It is through the promotional work developed by Pernambuco that the state is turning into one of the major destinations in the country.”
Mario Carvalho, Director of TAP, South America“In April 1967, the TAP fl ight between Recife and Lisbon was launched. On the 19th it will celebrate 46 years of service. Dilson Verçosa, Sales and Marketing Director of American Airlines to Brazil“Since we began operations in Pernambuco, four years ago, the work by the Department of Tourism and Empetur has been sensational. As well as professionalism, the big difference is how passionately they promote Pernambuco. I have never seen anything done so passionately”.

Pernambuco is a unique state, which brings together a piece of many parts of Brazil in the cultural, touristic and gastronomic areas. Th is is the concept of the campaign “Pernambuco. Todo o Brasil cabe aqui” (Pernambuco. Th e whole of Brazil fits here) developed from a partnership among the State Department of Tourism, Tourism Company of Pernambuco (Empetur)
and CVC, the largest tour operator in Latin America. Th e project includes, in addition to advertising, a training program for travel agents and a sales incentives campaign entitled “Você e mais cinco amigos em Pernambuco, numa boa” (You and five friends are in good hands in Pernambuco). de uma parceria entre a Secretaria
de Turismo do Estado, Empresa de
Turismo de Pernambuco (Empe-

contempla, além de peças publicitá-

a vigência da promoção, os agentes
da CVC que mais se destacarem no

com direito a cinco acompanhantes.
Segundo o diretor de Marketing da
CVC, André Turquetto, a campanha
busca traduzir o espírito da região.

Director of CVC, André Turquetto, the campaign seeks to translate the spirit of the region. “We realize that Pernambuco is one of the states that most refl ects the cultural diversity of Brazil, and we have also realized that people are seeking other attractions besides sun and sea”, he thinks. Th e promotion, which will run for three months (April to June), provides fi ve themes based on the tourist-cultural calendar and the paradisiacal settings of the state. “Brazil’s Nature”, “Brazil’s Culture”, “Brazil’s Parties”, “Brazil’s Ecotourism”, “Brazil’s Carnival” and “Brazil’s Beaches”, exploring images of destinations and attractions like Porto de Galinhas, Fernando de Noronha, Passion of the Christ in Nova Jerusalém, Carnival and São João in Caruaru.

The beach is for everyone. With this principle the Government of Pernambuco State, through the Department of Tourism and the Tourism Company of Pernambuco (Empetur), launched the “Praia Sem Barreiras” (Beach Without Barriers) project, with the goal of making the main beaches of the state accessible to people with disabilities or with reduced mobility. The project has already commenced on the beaches of Sueste, in Fernando de Noronha, and Boa Viagem, in Recife, and will start at the end of the month in Porto de Galinhas, on the south coast of the state.
Th e project includes the introduction of removable mats for accessibility, availability of amphibious chairs and assistants to help tourists. For those who get to experience the deep sea again, their happiness is discernable. “It was a magical moment, an indescribable feeling. At fi rst I was a little afraid, but the assistants are very careful and made us safe”, said Yoko Farias, who nine years

o projeto Praia Sem Barreiras, com
o objetivo de tornar as principais

o fi m do mês a Porto de Galinhas,
no litoral Sul do Estado.
O projeto prevê a instalação de es-

os turistas. Para quem passa pela ex-
periência de voltar a tomar banho de
mar, a felicidade fi ca visível. “Foi um
momento mágico. Uma sensação in-

receosa, mas os monitores são muito
cuidadosos e nos passam segurança”,
declarou Yoko Farias, que há nove anos

ago became quadriplegic and for the last three years hasn’t been to the beach.
Developed in conjunction with the City of Recife and the Maurício de Nassau University, the “Beach Without Barriers” in Recife has helped aid the innovation and the introduction of a sports arena, an alternative to offer even more leisure for local people and for tourists visiting the capital of Pernambuco.
Built on an area of 200 square metres, in front of Golden Tulip Recife Palace Hotel, on the corner of Bruno Veloso Street with Boa Viagem Avenue, the arena opens from Th ursday to Sunday from 8am to 12pm. Visitors have a 30 metre long mat to aid access to the sea, six amphibious chairs, three pools for children’s recreation, one sit down volleyball court, a physiotherapy and nursing tent, and assisted bathing. “It is a commendable experience. Tour pelo Recife sobre duas rodasTour Recife on two wheels
Recife, like other big cities in the world, now off ers its citizens and visitors the opportunity to explore the city on two wheels, with the launch of “Ciclofaixa de Turismo e Lazer” (Cycle path for Tourism and Recreation) at the end of March. Running on Sundays and holidays, the project consists of the adoption of two movable cycle lanes, about 25 km long, linking the North and South to Recife Antigo, the central area of the city. According to the Secretary of Tourism of Pernambuco, Alberto Feitosa, the cycle lanes allow greater interaction with Recife. “When riding a bike, locals and tourists can immerse in the daily life of the city, experiencing a diff erent view of what we are used to,” he says.
Th e route was set with the aim of bringing the leisure activity and a touristic excursion together. Th ere are the Sítio da Trindade (Trinity Site), Jaqueira Park, State Museum, Faculty of Law, Legislative Assembly, Santa Isabel Theatre, Campo das Princesas Palace, República Square,
the Craft Centre of Pernambuco, Cinco Pontas Fort, Boa Viagem Beach and Dona Lindu Park. The Secretary of Tourism and Leisure, Felipe Carreras, highlights that the project fulfi ls the role of encouraging the pursuit of healthy leisure. “Th e cycle path is another safe, healthy and cultural leisure option, both for locals and tourists visiting the city”, he says.
Three kiosks for technical and mechanical assistance for bikes are provided at strategic points: Ground Zero, Jaqueira and Dona Lindu Parks. Th e assistance is free and there are services such as wheel balancing, brake and gear adjustment and repairing fl at tires. For those who do not have a bike, it is possible to rent one at one of the three stations sponsored by Itaú Bank, they are also available at Recife Antigo and Dona Lindu and Jaqueira Parks. Besides the cycle path in Recife, the bank sponsors projects like Bike Sampa, in São Paulo, and Rio Bike, in Rio de Janeiro.
O Recife, a exemplo de algumas
grandes metrópoles do mundo, passou a
oferecer aos seus cidadãos e aos visitan-
tes a possibilidade de conhecer a cidade
sobre duas rodas, com o lançamento da
Ciclofaixa de Turismo e Lazer, no fi nal
do mês de março. Funcionando aos
domingos e feriados, a ação consiste
na adoção de duas ciclofaixas móveis,
com cerca de 25 km de extensão, ligando
as Zonas Norte e Sul ao Recife Antigo,
na área central da cidade. Segundo o
secretário de Turismo de Pernambuco,
Alberto Feitosa, as ciclofaixas possibili-
tam uma maior interação com o Recife.
“Pedalando, pernambucanos e turistas
Assim,
são contemplados atrativos como o
Sítio da Trindade, Parque da Jaquei-
ra, Museu do Estado, Faculdade de
Direito, Assembleia Legislativa, Teatro
Santa Isabel, Palácio do Campo das
Princesas, Praça da República, Centro
do Artesanato de Pernambuco, Forte
das Cinco Pontas, Praia de Boa Viagem
e Parque Dona Lindu.O secretário
de Turismo e Lazer do Recife, Felipe
Carreras, destaca que o projeto cumpre
o papel de incentivar a prática de lazer
saudável. “A Ciclofaixa é mais uma op-
ção de lazer segura, saudável e cultural,
tanto para os recifenses como para os
turistas que visitam a cidade”, afi rma.
Três quiosques para assistência téc-
nica e mecânica gratuita das bicicletas
são oferecidos em pontos estratégicos:
Marco Zero, Parque da Jaqueira e
Parque Dona Lindu. A assistência
é gratuita e são oferecidos os servi-
ços de calibragem de pneus, ajuste
de freio e marcha e reparo de pneus
furados. Quem não tiver bicicleta
pode alugar numa das três estações
patrocinadas pelo Banco Itaú, dis-
poníveis também na Jaqueira, Recife
Antigo e Parque Dona Lindu. Além
da ciclofaixa no Recife, o banco patro-
cina os projetos Bike Sampa, em São
Paulo, e Bike Rio, no Rio de Janeiro.
