We are working on

our second

newspaper from

Norway. We had a ter-

rible accident, as you

all know, recently.

Our whole school

burnt down to the

ground. The 7th.

Grade are located at

the communitycenter.

The 5th and 6th grade

are at a school called

Østli. It’s quite far

from Tårnåsen so we

have to take a school

bus every day. The 4th

and the 5th grade go to

a school called Sofie-

myr skole, not far

from Tårnåsen. What

is quit funny is that

the 1st and 2nd grade

goes to secondary

school (before the 7th

grade)! We have met a

lot of new children

from this school,

which is very nice.

Before the school

burned we were busy

making intervues and

taking pictures for

the newspaper. A lot

were destroyed in the

fire. We had been in

the forrest with the

1st graders, to the

swimminghall with

the second graders,

skiing with the 3rd

graders etc. We are

now working hard to

make new ones and

we hope you’ll like it.

If you forget me, I will be crushed to pieces. Small pieces, tiny pieces, no pieces.I will cry, lie, say that I’m fine.

The New School

I like my new school. I

have got a nice friend

and her name is Cecilie.

She is very kind and

sweet. Some of my

friends from before also

go to Østli. I really enjoy

going to this school.

The new school is great. My class has

a very small classroom. The toilet is

very big, but the school kitchen is

rather small. The school yard is a part

of the forest and there is no school

border and no football field here. The

school yard is very big. Sometimes I

play basketball and sometimes foot-

ball in the break. We have to take the

bus to and from school every day. All

in all it`s ok to be here, but I miss

is different, but now

I have started to like

being here. I have got

a new friend. She is

so great and very kind

to me. I like my class-

room, too. It is rather

small, but I like to

Dear Comeinius friends

I think the new school is very nice, but

I miss Tårnåsen school. I think it is a

long way to travel.. I think the class-

room is very nice but I like the play-

ground on Tårnåsen better. One thing I

do like about the playground at Østli is

that I can play table tennis. The chil-

dren here are also very nice.

Tårnåsen school on fire!

16th of March our school began to

burn. The fire began 20.20. It was

caused by careless playing with fire

too close to the school. Together

with some of the leaders from the

local youth club they tried to put out

the fire, but it was too late, it had

already gotten hold of the roof. Be-

cause the school was quite old, the

fire spread quickly. At nine o’clock

the firemen came. By then the fire

was all over the roof. Many people

came to see what was going on, the

firemen couldn`t put out the fire and

it lasted to the next day. The next

morning only sparks of fire were

seen. It was written about the

fire in many newspaper and on the

internet.

The fire wasn’t completely over

until Wednesday afternoon. At six

O`clock all the pupils from the 5–

7 grade with their parents got

together to get information about

what was going to happened the

next days. We, the sixth graders,

now go to a school called Østli

skole. You can read about our ex-

I have started on a new school. It's called Østli. The last school

burned down, 16th March. It's was very bad. But now I am happy,

because I have a new school. It is very nice there, but I miss some

things from Tårnåsen. I miss all the drawings and other things we

made. But I can make some new drawings. In Tårnåsen I walked or

bicycled, but to Østli I have to go by bus. In the playtime in Østli

we use the swings and play outside.

LETTERS FROM THE PUPILS

Hello the 16 th of Mars something very terrible

happened with our school. There was a fire and

our school burnt down. We are now going on Østli

School. I like to be here , it is a lot of funny things

to do in the break. Last week we saw two pretty

deers close to the school yard.

I will tell you about my new school, Østli School. The school is lying

only 3 kilometres from Tårnåsen, so we are going by bus every day. It

is lying on Myrvoll, a place further south in Oppegård. As Tårnåsen

School has Østli School also has a nickname, “The School in the For-

est”. There are about 350 pupils at the school and with 128 of us, it

becomes as big as Tårnåsen. Love from Sara

friends….yet. I am just with my

old friends. I don`t like that the

gymnasium is so small. It had

been better if my school didn`t

burn down. I think my classroom

is cool. I really

don`t like the A-plan

The time. I think it`s exciting to

take the school bus. The snow has

melted, I don`t know if I think

it`s good or bad? We had a couple

of football matches against

Østli and at last we won. I like the

school.

Our new school

is awesome.

The people here is very nice and

the girls often play with the girls

on the new school. I just live the

look of the school, it has lots of

playgrounds and many cool out-

side things. A bonus is that we

have a great basketball court and

you know me, I just live baske-

ball. It is very big school and

there is 2 floors.

From Tårnåsen to Østli By Viktor

Tårnåsen school was built in 1973 and

located in a nature-rich area. The school

covers the 1-7. Class, while the secondary

school is Hellerasten.

It was a very nice school and we agoing to

miss it. Many of us have some good

memories from that school.

On 16th of March a very big part on the

school burned down to the ground.

Most of the people who came there to

see our wonderful school we all love, were

the students and their parents, But,

some just came to see it burn.

It was a tragedy and a big problem for

the students. In the start everyone

asked themselves; were are we going to

learn and what will happen now? It was

decided that the 1-2 graders were going

to Hellerasten School, The 2-3 grad-

ers are going to Sofimyr School and

we, the 5.6 graders, are going to

Østli School. The 7 graders are going

to the activity centre at Tårnåsen.

We think that all of us were happy

about the decision.

Pupils and teacher at Østli are di-

vided into four teams. This organiza-

tion is more robust than the tradi-

tional organization with one teacher.

When a teacher is absent, the other

teachers in the team take over his/

her responsibilities. Students meet

adults they know and the days are

safe and predictable. The school is

clean and pretty with great outside

areas and nice social environments

school we must go on another school,

Østli. I think it is ok to get some new

friends, but I will rather go to my old

school.

had to move to another school.

The school is great. I have so many

friends here. This school has a

much bigger school yard

than we are used to

have. I like my old

school, but it is ok to

stay here. It`s no more

swimming very much. They all

think they are excellent

swimmer. However, Sondre can

only swim under water. All but

one think the teacher is a good

swimmingteacher. Their

favourite ctivity is to use the

slide,, to do breaststrokes, to

swim under water and to play a

game called Spiderman and

Jumping Jack. The best

swimmer can swim 100 m. and

one of them can hold their

breathe for 21 sec.

Fride, Amanda and Ingvild went

to see a play by the 3rd

Aida, Annika and Julie have

been interviewing some of the

children in the playground from

the 2. grade. Everyone wanted

to say something and to have

their pictures in the newspaper,

Unfortunately the pictures got

lost in the fire. They have

outdoor school one day every

week and they love it! Today

they are skiing, skating and

playing in the snow. They are

running, screaming and jumping

and are all hot and warm! When

we asked them ”Do you like

snow?” they all screamed

”YES!!”.

Jenny, Marte and Aurora also

came with them to the

graders.

We were welcomed by Eivind and

were told that the 7th graders

would guide us through many

countries and show us songs and

dances from all over the world.

It was an exiting journey. We saw

bellydance , a dance from Africa

were they used sticks, there were

acrobats and funny sketches.

The show ended in New York with

all of them singing and dancing

the song ”FAME”.

I learned a lot about the

different countries and had a

great time.

A panda walks into a cafe. He orders a sandwich, eats it, then draws a gun and fires two shots in the air. ”Why” asks the confused waiter, as the panda makes towards the exit.

Hi! My name is Aida. I’ve got a

hamster called Mia. It’s my second

one. My first hamster were also

called Mia. Mia the 2. lives in quite

a big cage. She has a wheel where

she runs. I wash her cage every

second week. It takes about an

hour. She’s my only pet.

I have a bird and her name is

Tweety. Tweety hasn’t got

feather on it’s head but is still

very cute. Tweety is a yellow

canary. I used to have a rat,

but it died last summer. Her

three kinds and she is one year

old. Tuva doesn’t have a dog but

her grandmother has one, an

eight year old Norwegian Elk-

hound. It’s called Tina and has

had just one puppy.

Synne has a Yorkshire Terrier

called Dino. It’s three months

old and it’s black and he’s only

15 cm long. It has a really bad

habit of biting my nose! It’s

getting very hairy, it looks al-

most like a hippie! Me and my

sister usually walk the dog. He

loves sausage and bacon. His

favourite toy is a rubber duck

that makes sound. I’m going to

give him a sofa for Christmas.

A man owned a shop. One day a woman came

in and asked the price for a dress. The

shopowner answered: A kiss! The woman said:

” O K, my grandmother comes on Monday and

One day down on the earth a horrible thing happened.

All the oldest children from 6 and 7 class at Tårnåsen

planned to bully all the small children at school.

High up in the sky, Diddle watched everything! She tried to

wake up Moog, Stitch and Sophie but

Stitch was very difficult to wake up.

The 4 Carebears live in a castle on a cloud high up in the sky. Their names are

Sophie, Mog, Stich and Diddle. They are 4 years old. They are very kind and they

always want to help children if they are being bullied.

When they got dressed at last and when they had eaten a huge breakfast they

were all ready for the trip down to the earth. They went into the sky car and

started, but then a terrible thing happened……..

The doors were drawn up, and when they decided to go out of the sky car, they

were drawn and out into a black hole. It is said that if you are almost quiet in the

darkest spot you can hear someone call for help. Therefore they were very quiet

and they could really hear a scream from a place very, very far away.

Sticks was lying in his bed and he was sleeping. Suddenly he woke up. His heart was

beating and he was wet all over his body. He cried and he screamed;

I HAVE HAD A NIGHTMARE!!!!!!

He was exhausted because of the dream, but very satisfied

that it was only a dream. Because it was only a nightmare, the

others have not been drawn into the black hole, either.

He dressed and went down for a bit breakfast and he felt

really happy, because it was only a dream. When he saw the

others sitting at the kitchen table eating he almost started crying. They thought he

looked worried, because Stich`s face was still red, his eyes were swollen up and his hair

was a bit untidy. Then Stich needed to tell all the others the things he had experienced.

The day before Stich had seen a night movie and the film was very, very scary. It had

been very late and he went to bed at 4 o`clock in the morning. Before he felt asleep he

thought about the scary episodes in the film and he felt it was like a black hole under

his bed. When he had to go to the toilet, he really jumped out of his bed. When he woke

up and found out it was only a nightmare he promised himself never to watch a scary

movie alone again.

1. Where is mom?

This is Sophie’s story about what happened four years ago:

It was morning. Mom was at work. James and I ate breakfast. The

whole day James and I were out playing tennis. At six o’clock mom was

still not home. James and I were worried. We thought that if we

waited a bit longer she would come home and both of us went to sleep.

The next morning we woke up and mom was still not there…..

2. The mystery

James and I decided to call the police. The police had not seen mom.

It was a mystery. They called mom’s job and mom’s colleague answered

the phone. He had not seen mom either. We decided to look for her.

We went to her job and found a note. It said: “I have gone to Paki-

stan”. We rushed to the airport and took the first flight to Pakistan.

3. At the airport in Pakistan.

When we came out of the plane we got a terrible shock. We saw mom

lying on the ground in front of a plane! We called the hospital and half

an hour later the ambulance arrived. They took mom to the hospital.

4. In the hospital

Mom was in hospital and she was close to dying. She was in a respira-

tor. The doctor thought she would live but she did not. One hour later

she was dead…

5. Who killed mom

Before mom died she saw who stabbed her and she recognized him. She

saw his passport and his name was sky Bond. The police searched for

his name and found out who he was. It was our own father who had

killed her.

And that’s how James and I ended up in an orphanage.

The football player and the lost turtle!

Once upon a time there were a football player called Fransec Fabregas who lived

in London. He had two little sisters who lived in Grand Canaria and they were

called Veronika and Elisabeth Fabregas. Veronika was 15 years old and evil. She

had a twin sister who was called Elisabeth who also was evil. Their parents were

dead and Veronika and Elisabeth lived alone.

Fransesc also lived alone but he was 22 years old. He had a very good football career

on Arsenal. He had a cool turtle called Sparky. He made a lot of money and he gave

some of it to his sisters. However, they were very nasty and mean. They bought a lot

of clothes and shoes. One day Elisabeth thought of an evil plan. They had called their

brother and asked if they could come and visit him. He became very happy and said

yes! What he didn’t know was that the sisters had an evil plan. That was to steel his

turtle and film him when he got so sad that he started to cry and then put it on You-

Tube.

The next day the sisters were in London and their brother met them on the airport in a limou-

sine. They drove home to Fransesc Fabregas. Fransesc had a big house with a big pool.It

was a diving board and a water slide and a lot of other cool things.

One day Fransesc was going to play a football match and he said to his sisters that they

could do what they wanted to. The only thing they couldn’t do was to touch his turtle. Still,

when he came home the turtle was gone. The sister’s evil plan was working. The same night

they heard that their brother was crying. The next day the brother understood that it must

have been his sisters, so he pretended to be in the pool and instead went to his sister’s room.

There he heard his sisters talking about what they had done to his turtle and that they were

going to film him the same night.

He stole their purses and told them that he could change them for his cool turtle Sparky.

The evil sisters gave up and said “OK”. In the end the sisters said “sorry” to their brother.

For the rest of the holiday they were good friends and they had lots of fun.
