2. Recap: Recounts retell past events. 3. What is the difference between recounts and narratives? Recounts can be considered a type of narrative. A narrative is any account of events presented by a narrator to a reader / listener / viewer. In the school context, narratives often refer to stories. 4. What are stories? Stories are made-up accounts of events. The main purpose of stories is to entertain the reader. 5. How To Write Good Stories 6. Make your main character come alive Its a good idea to base the main character on yourself, because you know yourself best. 7. Use action verbs Dont use too many boring verbs like was and were. 8.
