Skills: Differentiate content, process, results according to students’ language proficiency level. Teach high leverage vocabulary and patterns useful in a range of contexts. Balance teacher explanation and student practice. Monitor practice and provide immediate and specific constructive feedback. Build coherently from what has been taught to the next needed skill. ELD Highlights: Congratulations!!! We had our first Master’s class on January 12 th with 32 teachers. Bueno Center was able to receive grant to pay fully for the first class for our teachers. Paraprofessional ELD Certification: We have 18 paraprofessionals that will be starting certification classes on Thursday January 29 th ELD Updates: The Talking Cure, article on The New Yorker shared by Dee Bench (Dupont Instructional Coach). The poorer parents are, the less they talk with their children.
