Scholarship Donor & Student Celebration Luncheon

Nursing CSO Donates to Plumb Place

On November 7, FHTC scholarship donors and students came together for lunch to celebrate scholarship donors and student recipients. This was an opportunity for supporters to hear how scholarships impact

students and for students to connect with donors. Students Lauryn Catron and Jose Reyes Garcia Jr. both spoke at the lunch sharing how scholarships have assisted in their education journey.

Practical Nursing’s Community Service Organization presented a $2,500 donation to Plumb Place on December 3. Mary Richardson, Plumb Place director, along with board members Linda Clarke and

Brandy Nance accepted the gift. The funds were a result of several fundraisers organized by the students. They then decided as a group how to distribute to the community.

On November 5 and 6, FHTC representatives set up at the ESSDACK Career and Post-Secondary Expo in Hutchinson, Kans. This expo served as an opportunity for over 4,300 high school students from across Kansas to learn more about choices available to them after graduation. FHTC had several hands-on demonstrations and information stations where students were able to interact with staff and instructors.
