description

Product presentation at the WQA 2012 show about Sensafe™ Water Metals Check. Sensafe™ Water Metals Check visual test strips are a fast, easy, accurate and inexpensive way to determine if metals are in drinking water. This patented test incorporates a unique aperture (window) indicator that develops red in the presence of +2 metals. The technology eliminates color “bleeding” and gives better results with greater sensitivity. These strips are safe and easy to use with a built in noncarcinogenic pad indicator.

Water

Ø  It’s the most important natural resource in our environment

Ø Not pure - contains microorganisms, dissolved minerals and metals which need to be controlled so water can be used safely

Page 3: WQA 2012 Water Metals Testing

Testing for Metals

Ø Most reliable method for testing is laboratory analysis by instrumentation but cost per test expensive (over $20) and must allow for a delay in results

Ø Hazardous reagents in field kits and complicated test procedure may discourage the use of the kit

Ø Typical field kits don’t meet EPA detection requirements such as 15 µg/L for Lead

SenSafe™ Water Metals Check #480309

Ø  Excellent for field testing metals in water

Ø  Easy and Safe Ø  Results in under

3 minutes Ø  Inexpensive way to

increase RO sales

Benefits of SenSafe™ Water Metals Check

#480309

Ø  80% of tap water reads 50 ppb or above for metals

Ø  Filtered, RO and Bottled water is below 10 ppb

Ø  Water Metals Check requires no external chemicals or any training

Procedure of SenSafe Water Metals Check

#480309

Ø  Dip the strip for 30 seconds in sample

Ø  Wait two minutes Ø  Match color on the

end of the strip to the color chart provided on the bottle (color chart)

Benefits of SenSafe™ Water Metals Check

#480309

Ø Accurate because: l  No chemicals to mix and no

instrumentation to calibrate, SenSafe™ Water Metals Check minimizes error because of simple procedure

l  Patented aperture strip allows such low detection

l  Indicator is water insoluble

Benefits of SenSafe™ Water Metals Check

#480309

Ø Quick because: l  No set up is required so

results are available in a fraction of the time required by other methods

Benefits of SenSafe™ Water Metals Check

#480309

Ø Safe because: l  SenSafe™ Water Metals

Check is classified by OSHA to be non-hazardous because of the small amount of chemicals involved

l  Indicator is not toxic

Ø Safe to Transport because: l  Small and portable - makes it

ideal for field testing

l  Very Stable even when exposed to elevated temperatures

Why Test Results are Good

1.  Test range is acceptable 2.  Test is appropriate for user technical

ability 3.  Test is robust: reagents are reliable and

stable 4.  Test gives meaningful results 5.  Test is accurate when performed

correctly

Running TEST KIT IN A LAB

Ø Analysis will provide good results in a Laboratory setting

Ø A lab is a controlled environment where Reagent stability is assured

Ø Recalibration of test kit reagents or kit performance can be easily confirmed

Page 17: WQA 2012 Water Metals Testing

Running a Test Kit On-Site

Ø  Test kits and instruments on-site operate under different environmental conditions

Ø  Customer home or business can have a great deal of affect on results and operator

Ø  Distractions like noise and activity Ø  For some tests (especially Liquid reagents)

stability is affected by elevated Temperature in transport vehicle

Ø  On-site (Field) precise results are a challenge Ø  Easy, non-technical procedures are desirable
