2. WPS number

This is distinguished by welding process : - M (SMAW) : Shield Metal Arc Welding - F (FCAW) : Flux Core Arc Welding - G (GMAW) : Gas Metal Arc Welding - T (GTAW) : Gas Tungsten Arc Welding - A (SAW,SAC) : Submerged Arc Welding (Automative) - MA (welding process at the SMAW + SAW,SAC) : use 2 same time - TM ( GTAW + SMAW)

Base metal (P no) :- Example of joining 2 base metal (GROOVE or fillet , tag) 0303 : joining by “ P3” material on P3 material - Example of build up , buttering and cladding welding for 1 base metal 0343 : build up by “F43” inconnel electrodes on “P3” material

Application code :ASME I, ASME II, ASME VIII, ANSI/ASME B31.1, ASME IX, AWS D1.1 “A” : ASME (American Society Machanical Engineer )“ W ” : AWS ( American Welding Socieity )“ K ” : KEPIC ( Korea Electric Power Industry Code )`

It is the revised number

Ex ) - What is A- TM-4343-101 (GROOVE) ? - What is K-M-0308-102 (cladding) ?

5. PWHT

▶Purpose PWHT:

Hồi phục tính chất của vật liệu bị giảm độ mềm dẻo do thay đổi cấu tạo do ảnh hưởng nhiệt , đóng cứng lại và tồn dư ứng lực sau khi gia công uốn ,ép ,hàn ….nhằm loại bỏ hơi ẩm và loại bỏ ứng suất .

▶ ASME – section I : Power Boiler

6. Gas

Flow rate of FCAW & TIG shielding gas generally :

- FCAW : CO2 gas => 15~25 L/MIN - GTAW : Ar gas => 8~17 L/MIN - GMAW: Ar + CO2 => 20~25 L/MIN (refer to WPS)

• GTAW : EWth-2 ,OD 2.4 - EWth-2 :thorium 2% tungsten electrode (red)- EWP : pure tungsten electrode (green)- EWZr : Zicronium Tungsten electrode (brown)• Flux Type (SAW process) :- Neutral type :do not change the composition of

weld metal as produced by fusion together of base metal & electrode .They contain a little Mn , Si for multiple passes on thick plates .

- Active type :help eliminating porosity and weld cracking (Mn ,Si) it uses for single passes .
