Pilot implementation: planning

The pilot is going to test: 1. IT solution/tool implemented in the Rijeka centre – system that includes a circle of automatic bollards as an effe automatic entrance control into the pedestrian zone,2. The rules for entrance into the pedestrian zone – timing, acess, duration of the deliveries, type of vehicles for deliveries into the pedestrian zone,3.CO2 emissions in the peek hours.

1. Entrance to the Limited Traffic Area (pedestrian zone “Korzo” and “Old City”) - number of deliveries, daily distribution, time and

length of deliveries. 2. Traffic flow in the City Center Area (monthly, weekly, daily and hourly distribution of traffic flow expressed in the number of vehicles standard units (PAJ), 3. CO2 emissions on 4 locations in the City Center: weekly measurements on most traffic congested points.

• Results gained by the pilot will be reference numbers for new delivery system rules in the city centre with the aim of reducing traffic congestion, improvement of traffic flow in the city centre as well as reducing CO2 emissions in energy efficient urban deliveries system

• Restructuring the existing network of official goods delivery locations

• Setting up new rules for deliveries in the city centre (timing of deliveries, acces to the pedestrian zone)

• implementing new technology solutions in urban delivery system

• Defining possibilities for implementating new urban delivery

solutions in wider city area
