DATES TO REMEMBER Spring Term 2013 School opens – Tuesday 8th January 2013 School closes – Friday 15th February 2013 CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES

A big thank you to all of our parents for your continuing support with our Christmas activities. Your support for both the Infant and Junior productions was excellent. Those who attended the FOGMS Carol Service enjoyed the occasion and the parties had food provided in abundance. School takes a lot of time and trouble to organise and manage Christmas Production tickets and I thank you for your support. Please only ask for your family ticket allocation so that we can ensure fair distribution for all. If you are unable to attend please tell school and then we can reissue tickets appropriately. Thank you for your help in this matter.

MOBILE PHONES Whilst we want to develop independent skills in year 6, the privilege of having a mobile phone on the way to and from school also brings responsibility. Both school and parents need to be able to trust children to act appropriately and do the right thing. Pupils must only bring mobile phones to school if absolutely necessary. They will be collected in at the office but school cannot take responsibility for them. We ask that mobile phones are switched off as soon as pupils enter the school site in the morning and only switched on after leaving the site in the afternoon. Thank you for your support.

Outdoor Learning Kits Please ensure that the children’s outdoor learning kits are back in school at the start of the new term as well as their PE kits. All normal curriculum lessons will be up and running in January.

Parent Volunteer Readers We would like to thank all of our Parent Volunteer Readers for their support and wish them a very Merry Christmas and we look forward to your continued support in the New Year.

Miss Buffery & Mrs Mills ‘They help us answer the questions about the book’ Elliott—1PW ‘If we get stuck the Mums are always there to help us.’ - Isla—RR ‘I enjoy it because I like reading books and reading new books each time. The parent helps me to say the words properly and understand what they mean.’ Ellena—4F ‘They are thoughtful because they spend their own time helping us read.’ Ella—3H

Christmas Charity Collection Well done to everyone and thank you for your generosity. With the sale of the production tickets and today’s non uniform day we have collected a staggering £700.00 for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Cancer Ward. WELL DONE!
