Would you join the Indiana Forest Alliance in presenting an inspiring environmental film festival? The Wild & Scenic Film Festival will be held on a Sunday afternoon in January 2018 at the Buskirk- Chumley Theatre. By sponsoring this film festival, you will reach an audience of 600 people who love what’s wild. This is the first Wild & Scenic Film Festival to be held in Bloomington (the first two were held in Indianapolis in 2015 & 2016). Our goal is to create visibility for you, your company or organization in front of a southern Indiana audience that appreciates the great outdoors. What is the Wild & Scenic Film Festival? Wild & Scenic is a call to action, organized by the South Yuba River Citizens League in California. This traveling film festival inspires film-goers to take action in their communities to save our threatened planet. The slate of 10 to 15 short films (ranging from 2 to 35 minutes each) highlight our world’s beauty, amazing wildlife, stories of citizens speaking truth to power, and the work that communities are doing to protect the environment. Our film slate will also include a number of short films produced by the Indiana Forest Alliance about local citizens involved in defending our forests. Every guest at the festival gets a one year membership to IFA. When and where will the Festival be? The Wild & Scenic Film Festival will be held on a Sunday afternoon in January 2018 at the Buskirk-Chumley Theatre at 114 East Kirkwood Avenue in Bloomington, Indiana. The date will be finalized the first week of November. Doors open at 6 p.m. Films run from 7–10 p.m.

What is the Indiana Forest Alliance? The Indiana Forest Alliance (IFA) is a statewide non-profit working to conserve forests and wild areas. Our mission is to preserve and restore Indiana’s native hardwood forest ecosystem for the enjoyment of all. Through expert research, influential advocacy, effective organizing, powerful storytelling, the Indiana Forest Alliance strives to ensure that Indiana’s forest ecosystem thrives. IFA organizes citizens, groups, and decision-makers to ensure that our forests are protected for future generations.

Tell me more about IFA’s membership.IFA members are passionate people dedicated to sustainability. Sample their voices: • “I’m a trail runner and have seen the results of logging in my “backyard” of Yellowwood. We need to protect our lands more now than ever and need to start locally.” --Momi F., Bloomington, Ind. • “My family would like very much to leave this world FORESTED for future generations!” --Gretchen L., Nashville, Ind.• “Every remnant of old growth forest is priceless and irreplaceable – thank you for fighting to save this!” --Olivia C., Oakland, Ind.

What is the impact of the Indiana Forest Alliance?IFA is leading a campaign now to protect 300 acres in Yellowwood State Forest from logging. This year, we hosted a rally for 800

people at the state house and have formed five local coalitions dedicated to protecting a portion of state forests from logging. By sponsoring the Wild & Scenic Film Festival, you are supporting these kinds of grassroots efforts in Monroe County. IFA also scored a major victory in protecting a 15-acre plot of old growth forest in Indianapolis this year known as Crown Hill North Woods.
