    Get a jump start on your college degree.

    Did you know that the students sitting next to you in your junior andsenior high school classes could also be taking college classes to get ajump start on their college education? In fact, they could be earninghigh school and college credits at the same time, through the dualenrollment program at Wor-Wic Community College.

    By taking advantage of dual enrollment, you can: earn college credits that will transfer to an in-state or

    out-of-state college or university; build confidence and reduce anxiety about college; add some excitement to your final year or two of high

    school; get some of your general education courses out of the way

    so you can focus more on your major after transferring to a four-year school;

    increase the likelihood of earning your bachelors degree in four years or less; and

    significantly reduce the cost of your college education.

    Dont forget that Wor-Wic will also accept your AdvancedPlacement (AP) course work if you achieve a score of 3 orhigher. And, you could even receive college credits for certaincourses you completed in high school as a result of articulationagreements that Wor-Wic has with the local boards of education.

    The College and Career Readinessand College Completion Act of2013 has made dual enrollmentmore affordable than ever before.Public high school students whoqualify for free and reducedmeals (FARM) can enroll in Wor-Wic classes tuition-free, onlyhaving to pay for books and fees.Students in private schools thathave dual enrollment agreementswith Wor-Wic pay 75 percent ofthe regular tuition rate. Publichigh school students who do notqualify for FARM pay 90 percentof the 75 percent tuition rate. Inaddition to the discounted tuitionrates, Wor-Wic has designatedalmost $20,000 in grant funds tosupport dual enrollment studentswho demonstrate financial need.
