This Week’s Reading Matthew 28: 16-20 New Revised Standard VersionNow the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

A Hymn to Lift Our Voices in JoyHymn 299: Holy, Holy, Holy

1. Holy, holy, holy, lord God almighty!Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee.Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty,God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!

2. Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore thee, Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea,Cherubim and seraphim falling down before thee, Who wert and art and evermore shalt be.

3. Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide thee,Though our eyes in sinfulness thy glory may not see,Only thou art holy; there is none beside thee,Perfect in power, in love and purity.

4. Holy, holy, holy, Lord God almighty! All thy works shall praise thy name in earth and sky and sea.Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty,God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!

Perspective and Response #1 Jake Van Pernis

The instructions Jesus gives the disciples contain the words, go, teach, and remember. Think about how you will live into the words go, teach and remember today and in the days ahead and share your reflections with us.

Perspective and Response #3 Christian Persaud

In our passage Jesus says to, "teach them to obey everything that I have commanded you." One of Jesus' most important teachings is love one another as I have loved you. Over the past week we've seen how important, and difficult, this commandment can be to follow. We are called to love everyone, not just those who think like us, look like us, or act like us. This week respond by helping those working for justice, loving kindness, and are walking humbly with God. Whether it's getting directly involved, or donating to efforts, there are many ways to support and encourage the love Jesus calls us to practice.

Communion

Invitation to the Table

Great Prayer of ThanksgivingGreat God of all the things ... in every time and in every place…Holy, holy, holy Lord,God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is the One who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

And so we thank you ... and as Jesus taught us, we pray together:

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever.

Amen.
