As stewards of God’s resources, we try not to print an excess of bulletins. We invite you to bring this bulletin with you when you return for the evening service.
WelcomeTo Our Guests,We especially welcome you today! More information about our church is available on our website at firstpresaugusta.org. You can also visit our welcome desk in the Welcome Center, located directly behind the sanctuary.
Spiritual CareIf you would like to speak to someone about what it means to know Jesus Christ or you have any spiritual need or question, please use one of the prayer cards in the pew rack to contact one of our pastors. Our church elders are also available to speak with you. An elder and his wife will be standing next to the pastor following the service to talk or pray with you.
Children’s Check-inWe are committed to the highest level of protection possible for the children placed in our care on Sundays and at all church events. For this reason, we require parents of newborns through fifth grade children to check in their children before they go to the nursery, Sunday School, Catechism, Children’s Church or any other children’s activity. Kiosks are available in the Narthex and in the Children’s Lobby. The process is quick and easy, and volunteers are available to assist you.
Children’s WorshipWe offer a specially designed program for children in pre-K through fourth grade during the morning services. Leaders will escort children from the sanctuary to their classrooms during the hymn of preparation. Parents are welcome to accompany them to observe where to pick them up after the service. Children in pre-K through second grade remain in their classrooms until they are picked up by a parent.
Nursery Nurseries are provided for infants and toddlers during the worship services and Sunday School. We provide a Mother/Infant Room (room 160) located in the Ebenezer Building behind the sanctuary, and the Geneva Room is designated as a cry room for parents with fussy children. Both rooms are equipped with live video feed of the worship services. Ushers are available to direct you.
Additional Seating Please see ushers for additional overflow seating.
We are very glad to have you worshiping our gracious God with us today.

Q. What is true faith?
A. True faith— created in me by the Holy Spirit through the gospel—Is not only a knowledge and conviction that everything that God reveals in his Word is true,But also a deep-rooted assurance that not only others, but I too, have had my sins forgiven, have been made right with God, and have been granted salvation. These are gifts of sheer grace earned for us by Christ.
Beloved Savior, we, your chosen people, have received blessing upon blessing from your gracious hand. In your great love, you created us and gave yourself for us. You have provided for us, protected us, and preserved us. What more could you possibly do for us?
Shamefully, we do not regard your deeds, and we fail to acknowledge your mighty works. We should be producing fruits of righteousness in response to your love, but we live self-centered lives of over-indulgence. We call evil good and good evil. We do the works of darkness, instead of walking in the light of your truth. We are wise in our own eyes; we are foolish and arrogant. We do not practice justice and mercy. We reject your Law and despise your holy Word.
Lord of Hosts, you are exalted in your righteousness and holy in your justice. We deserve your wrath and judgment. Please forgive us. Remember your covenant with us and do not treat us as our sins deserve. Through Christ we pray, Amen. from Isaiah 5

†The Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s PrayerOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
The Assurance of Pardoning Grace .......................................................Titus 2:11-14For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.

Look at the world, everything all around us:Look at the world, and marvel every day.Look at the world: so many joys and wonders,So many miracles along our way.
Praise to thee, O Lord, for all creation,Give us thankful hearts, that we may see:All the gifts we share, and every blessing,All things come of thee.
Look at the earth bringing forth fruit and flower;Look at the sky, the sunshine and the rain;Look at the hills, look at the trees and mountains,Valley and flowing river, field and plain:
Think of the spring, think of the warmth of summerBringing the harvest before the winter’s cold.Everything grows, everything has a season,Till it is gathered to the Father’s fold:
Every good gift, all that we need and cherishComes from the Lord in token of his love;We are his hands, stewards of all his bounty; His is the earth, and his the heav’ns above:

The Evening Service
The Shorter Catechism, Question 58:
Q. What does the fourth commandment require?
A. The fourth commandment requires us to set apart to God the times he has established in his Word—specifically one whole day out of every seven as a holy Sabbath to him.

Offering
I heard the voice of Jesus say, “Behold, I freely give The living water; thirsty one, Stoop down and drink and live.” I came to Jesus, and I drank Of that life-giving stream; My thirst was quenched, my soul revived, And now I live in him.
I heard the voice of Jesus say, “I am this dark world’s Light; Look unto me, your morn shall rise, And all your day be bright.” I looked to Jesus and I found In him my Star, my Sun; And in that light of life I’ll walk, Till trav’ling days are done.
