Thank you to everyone who supported the Thank you to everyone who supported the $3.0 in 24MO! Campaign and to those who attended the reception. This two year campaign officially ended
on October 31, 2016. To date, the campaign allowed us to pay for the cost of nearly two of the five floors. Your generosity has been overwhelming.
As you can see, we still have a way to go. For those who have not completed their pledge, we want
you to continue your payments even though the campaign has ended from an accounting point of view. All of your future payments will be noted to your pledge. We ask you to continue to support
AbyWest. New initiatives will roll out soon as we continue to forge ahead to reach our goal of $8MM to complete the entire five floor community center.
We continue to strive to attain 100% participation because we want others to know our
membership is committed to this effort. Your support is greatly appreciated!
CHURCH COVENANT
Having been led, as we believe, by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus
Christ as our Saviour; and on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the
name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now in the
presence of God, angels and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into
covenant with one another, as one body in Christ.
We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian
love; to strive for the advancement of this church in knowledge and holiness; to give
it a place in our affections, prayers and services above every organization of human
origin; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline and doctrine; to contribute
cheerfully and regularly, as God has prospered us, towards its expenses, for the
support of a faithful and evangelical ministry among us, the relief of the poor and the
spread of the Gospel throughout the world. In case of difference of opinion in the
church, we will strive to avoid a contentious spirit, and if we cannot unanimously
agree, we will cheerfully recognize the right of the majority to govern.
We also engage to maintain family and secret devotion; to study diligently the
word of God, to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our
kindred and acquaintance; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be kind and just to
those in our employ, and faithful in the service we promise others; endeavoring in
the purity of heart and good will towards all men to exemplify and commend our
holy faith.
We further engage to watch over, to pray for, to exhort and stir up each other
unto every good word and work; to guard each other’s reputation, not needlessly
exposing the infirmities of others; to participate in each other’s joys, and with tender
sympathy bear one another’s burdens and sorrows; to cultivate Christian courtesy;
to be slow to give or take offense, but always ready for reconciliation, being mindful
of the rules of the Saviour in the eighteenth chapter of Matthew, to secure it
without delay; and through life, amid evil report, and good report, to seek to live to
the glory of God, who hath called us out of darkness into his marvelous light.
When we remove from this place, we engage as soon as possible to unite with
some other church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the
principles of God’s word.

ABYSSINIAN INSTITUTE FOR CHRISTIAN EDUCATION
BIBLE QUEST This exercise is designed to stimulate a thirst for biblical knowledge
Strengthen your awareness of biblical facts by responding to as many questions as possible
before checking the scripture reference points provided by using the link below to check
your answers. http://abyssinian.org/ministry/christian-education/abyssinian-institute-for-christian-
education/ During this season of Lent, be intentional about taking time to center yourself as
you read the entire chapter where the answers are found.
1. Who, besides Jesus, fasted for 40 days and 40 nights?
2. How should we present ourselves publicly while fasting?
3. What were the prophets and teachers doing at Antioch when Barnabas and Saul
were called by the Holy Spirit to go forth on a missionary journey?
4. According to the Book of James, good faith must be accompanied by what?

honor their sacrifice. This teaching is designed to recognize the contributions of women
who were inspired to stand firm when God called them into action for the good of
humanity.

explore the Gospel for deepened understanding of the Triumphal Entry, Cleansing of
the temple, Last Supper, and Arrest and Trial of Jesus. What is God saying today
about the awesome sacrifice Jesus made on our behalf and the power that was
released at the Cross and deposited into us as modern-day disciples?
Biblical Principles for Managing Work/Life Conflict – Min. Pamela D. Mason
Thur. 5/3, 5/10, 5/17 | 7:00 – 8:00 PM | Webinar (Mobile Devices)
For Abyssinian Members Only
Conflict offers many challenges for Christians who seek comfort in the discomforts of
life. However, conflict is not necessarily bad. God will sometimes allow stressful
events in our lives to get our attention or to move us forward into new and
exciting avenues of growth. Looking through the lens of God’s people, this course
examines how conflict can lead to victorious living when we learn to rise above
circumstances into God’s marvelous light. If you believe that all things work together
for good to those that love the Lord, join us as we explore Godly principles for success when facing
“giants in our lives” that throw us off balance.
