submitted by Mildred Whittaker The following book has been purchased for the Claudia Lee Henson Memorial Library: This Girl is DifferentThis Girl is DifferentThis Girl is DifferentThis Girl is Different by J. J. Johnson. Evie is different. Not just her upbringing - though that’s certainly been unusual - but also her mindset. She’s smart, independent, confident, opinionated and ready to take on a new chal-lenge, the institution of school. It doesn’t take this home-schooled kid long to discover that high school is a whole new world. It’s also a social minefield, and Evie finds herself confronting new problems at every turn. May contain provoc-ative language. This book in the Leadership Development category is a youth book.

The family of Jack Martin wishes to express our sincere appreciation for all the love and concern our church family has shown us during our time of sorrow. You have been a great blessing and a source of strength. We will always be grateful for every gesture of friendship and caring.

Dear Church Family,

Our God is a magnificent and omnipotent God who can heal without a single prayer; but His word tells us, “You do not have because you do not ask God.” (James 4:2). His word also says, “Ask and it will be given to you.” (Matthew 7:7). Thank you for all the asking and praying for me before surgery, during surgery, and recovery to health again; and thanks be to God for answering your prayers. Thank you also for the food, cards, phone calls, texts, emails, and for your precious friendship. I am humbled by your kindness and love of our people. To God be the glory. I love you all,

Sylvia Hodges
