Thanksgiving Dinner is this Wednesday, November 15 from 5:00 – 6:30 pm in Cupp Hall of the Christian Life Center. We are asking those with last names starting with M-Z to bring desserts. Donations for the Open Arms Food Pantry will be greatly appreciated. It costs approximately $12 to provide a family with groceries and we allow a family to come once every five weeks. We needed just under $30,000 last year to provide meals for over 2,500 families. Everyone is welcome! Jewish Americana Concert First United Methodist is partnering with the Congregation House of Israel, Cooperative Christian Ministries, and The Rosenzweig Fund for Interfaith Activities to host a concert by Jewish Americana musician, Joe Buchanan. The concert will be this Saturday, November 18 at 7:00 pm in the Christian Life Center and will feature original songs, laughs, and toe-tapping tunes! Learn more about Joe on his website, joebuchananmusic.com. Caregiver Workshop on Dementia will be this Tuesday, November 14 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm at the Garland County Library. The workshop will provide caregiving tips that help maintain respect, dignity and quality of life for people living with dementia. The cost is free and lunch will be served. To register, call (501) 276-0945. Dried Beans Needed! We are collecting pinto beans, kidney beans, lentils, or any other type of dried beans for A Night in Bethlehem on December 10. The beans will be shared with the community with a recipe for Stone Soup. Drop them off in the bin labeled “Dried Beans” in the Christian Life Center. Salvation Army Bell Ringers Your first chance to sign up to ring bells for the Salvation Army kettles will be at Thanksgiving Dinner this Wednesday, November 15. Sign up sheets will also be available at each service starting Sunday, November 19. Volunteers will ring at the Kroger store near Hobby Lobby on November 30, December 2, 7 and 9 from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. We need two or more volunteers for each one hour time slot.
