GETTING TO KNOW ONE ANOTHERWorship Leaders Today
Carrie Bartlow has been attending Second since 2006. She is a senior Account Manager at Kemper & Company in Kansas City. Carrie and Nick have three children: Wakefield, Ramsey, and Deacon.
Nick Bartlow became a member of Second in 2000. He currently serves on the Leadership Development Committee and teaches the Young Adult Bible Study with Carrie. He is the Director of Commercialization at Farmland Foods.
Don Brown has been a member of Second since 1967 when he joined the music faculty of William Jewell College. He chaired the department from 1981 until retirement in 2004. Don is involved in the Sanctuary Choir, the Adult Handbell Choir, and the Middle School Handbell Choir.
Amy Duncan has been a member of 2BC since 1975. She is involved in Bible study, the sanctuary and handbell choirs, and the deacon ministry. She is married to Greg and they are parents of Stewart and Emily. Amy is the daughter of Don and Helen Brown.
Emily Duncan will be a sophomore at Washington University in St. Louis, majoring in Art with a minor in Psychology. She is the daughter of Greg and Amy Duncan and the granddaughter of Don and Helen Brown.
Stewart Duncan is the son of Greg and Amy Duncan. He will be a senior Oxbridge music major at William Jewell College this fall. He just returned from a year of study abroad at Oxford in England.. Stewart’s arrangement of “Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us” was composed for the 50th wedding anniversary of his maternal grandparents, Don and Helen Brown, in whose wedding the hymn was featured. The hymn was also played at Greg and Amy Duncan’s wedding, and they are celebrating their Silver Anniversary this year.
Amelia George will enter second grade at the new EPiC elementary in Liberty this fall. She is the daughter of John and Karri George.
Linda Jones is the Church Administrator at Second. She was a school teacher for 15 years. Larry and Linda have three children and seven grandchildren with number eight on the way!
Mike Lassiter has been on staff at Second Baptist for 25 years, currently as Associate Pastor for Missions, Community Care, and “fun”. He and wife, Debbie, have four children and four grandchildren.
Sara Langford lives, works, and worships in Liberty with family. She is a co-coordinator of the Stephen Ministry of Second Baptist church and loves playing the piano for the preschool choir. Professionally, Sara is a teacher for the Liberty Public School district.
Connie McNeill was ordained by Second in 1984. She was a member of Second for 25 years before moving to Atlanta to work for national CBF. Last fall, she returned to Liberty to work at Wentworth Military Academy and College.. Connie is currently serving as interim Spiritual Formation Pastor here at Second Baptist.
Bert Stouffer has been a member of Second Baptist Church since 1992, He and Jacque served on the Catalyst leadership team over the past few years, Bert also chaired the 2BC Renovation Team for the 2007–8 major project. They are the parents of Will and Jake.
Ashton Wells is a student at Central Baptist Theological Seminary in the Create program. She is serving as interim Co-Pastor for the Student Ministry along with Jordan Groves.

Each Sunday in the Welcome Center (just inside the Kansas Street entrance on Level 1), our Connections Team is waiting to help you get “connected.” This may include finding a Bible study class, showing you where children and student ministries meet, or sharing the days’ activities and schedule. You may also choose simply to enjoy a cup of coffee at the Welcome Center’s coffee bar and get to know others at Second.
