From all the investigated cultures, we can see that every country is strongly influenced by Catholicism (Christianism). Many other religions as Protestantism, Jewish, Muslim, Hindus, Buddhism, Taoism, Islam, and Catholicism with African elements are part of these countries main religions. Each country is strongly influenced by one main religion even though; their populations do not belong properly to one. Guatemala would be the one mainly influenced by Christianism. USA, would be the one mainly influenced by Protestantism, though, a big percentage of Americans belong to Christianism and Jewish. London, would be the one mainly influenced by the practice of religions as Muslims and Hinduism. China, is the one mainly influenced by a mix of religions. Buddhism, would be though the predominant religion. Finally, Cuba, would be the one mainly influenced by Catholicism with African Elements.

Family is an essential fact in the society of any country. In the majority of the countries are mostly common the basic families that are formed by the father as the head of the family, the mother, a child or in some cases children. The concept of family basicly is the same around the world, mostly all cultures focus first in the family. The family is the based in the society, with you learn about values and principles that help you during all your life. American culture is different in that point, of course, they respect the family but because of their culture they focus more in their work than in their family. Summarizing, family is essential in any culture, no matter the number of members, each member has its role and function for the family welfare.

Politics

Politics and the way on how the countries work within their countries is very different, but from taking Guatemala, USA, London, China and Cuba´s politics we cans ay that the ninety percent of these countries are democrats and a ten percent has a communist government. What does this mean, that most of the countries believe that all people should be able to pursue their goals to spite their religion, race and so on. On the other hand we can say that there are several countries in the world like Cuba that their government seem to have to power to choose for the people. In other words, we can say that politics is a way to maintain countries with order, some let people choose and others to make sure of what they want for the future decide for the people to take better decisions. Laws were made to protect ourselves, to make us feel safety and to live without any worry, and that is the main reason of why every government has different ways to handle a country.

In China they are just as much a way of living as a form of training to keep the body in shape. You can also swim, ride horses and learn how to exert calligraphy, like in the Chinese signs.

Cuba

Since all labor in Cuba is controlled in some way by the Cuban government or joint ventures that are required to use Cuban labor; there really is no opportunity for a job listing board, employment service, or contract bid site at this time. Often the true value of a job is determined by the opportunities it presents for theft and other scams, whether pilfering gasoline, stealing food or selling ill-gotten construction materials on Cuba’s sprawling black market.

The family has lost some of its importance as the Revolution has taken over some of its economic and social functions. Families are much smaller now and less likely to include wide horizontal connections . It may be, though, that as the state loses its ability to meet the basic material needs of its citizens in the current economic crisis, the family will again increase in prominence.

Even though many in Cuba cannot afford much, they are very resourceful in finding fun things to do. Cubans enjoy dancing, especially Salsa! Cubans are fortunate to have beaches where they can bring some food and drink and have a great time. Baseball is the national sport and many boys start out by playing baseball on the streets. Playing dominoes is also a big past time for the men. For the ladies, well they have the equivalent of the soap operas here in the States to keep them occupied

The popular religiosity which did develop among white and Creole Cubans was a local version of Catholicism enriched with African influences. There are no holy sites to which pilgrimages are made, although the cathedrals in Santiago and Havana are symbolic and continue to offer Mass. More common is a home altar that may include both Catholic and African elements.

Cuba is a centrally-planned one party state run by the Communist government and Party. President Raúl Castro formally took over from his older brother Fidel Castro as head of state and government in February.

Problem

Alan works in the claims department of a major hospital. Paperwork on a recent admission shows that a traumatic mugging caused the patient to require an adjustment in the medication she is prescribed to control anxiety and mood swings. Alan is struck by the patient’s unusual last name and upon checking her employment information realizes she is one of his daughter’s grade school teachers. Alan’s daughter seems very happy in her school and he cannot violate patient confidentiality by informing the school of a teacher’s mental illness but he is not comfortable with a potentially unstable person in a position of influence and supervision over his eight year old daughter. Can Alan reconcile these issues in an ethical manner? Before answering, take into account the Law of each country, culture, statistics, etc. any relevant information to support your opinion.

Page 11: Worldwide Cultures

Solution The solution to this problem would be first, Alan to look for the law of his country, for example the ADA protects the rights of employees to not be discriminated by mental or physical disabilities. Why he needs this? Because if in the constitution of his country there is a law that protect students from teachers with these kind of prblems he can go to trial and ask for the removement of the teacher in his daughter’s school. In the other hand if there is no law that protects students and other people from this kind of sicness, or disorder, he can talk to the teacher, explain her he medical causes, and effects that having more medicine to this problem can cause in her students. Finally if there is nothing he can do by himself, it is better to ask for help with a lawyer, since this person is not able to take care of her anxiety and mood swings, and somehow can endanget the community with this problem.
