The International Society for Telemedicine and eHealth (ISfTeH) will launch a competition for innovative and sustainable information and communication technology (ICT) solutions for the health sector.The Trophy aims to discover current work being done in the fields of Telemedicine and m-eHealth; to encourage the production and sharing of knowledge on m-eHealth solutions; and to provide added value through the sharing of lessons learnt in m-eHealth. The award targets a range of participants, including individuals, NGOs, devel-opment organizations, companies, academic institutions and research facili-ties. The criteria and focus of the award are centered on a) using ICT to increase access to health services, particularly for the poor and marginalized; b) using ICT to increase the utilization of essential health services; and/or c) the evaluation of eHealth solutions to improve efficiency in the delivery of health services.
Background1
The Technical Committee is responsible for the technical review of abstracts and reports received from candidates for the eHealth award. It will be responsible for the selection of short listed candidates based on pre-defined criteria, as well as selection of the eventual winners, also based on pre-de-fined criteria.
The Technical Committee will be composed of prominent eHealth experts who have extensive experience in eHealth innovation that is relevant to Africa, as well as of African Development Bank staff working on ICT and Health.

Each member of the Technical Committee will review the proposals accord-ing to the following criteria. Averages will then be calculated and all projects above a given threshold will be discussed Committee to identify 10 national winners. NB: The Technical Committee Members’ judgment will be required to assess the impact of projects and their added value.
