Easy MeteringConfiguration of the Dosimag and Dosimass device parameters is done by “ToF Tool - Field-tool”, Endress+Hauser’s universal service and configuration program. This multi-module software package has the wide-ranging options you need for optimized metering.

The “Fieldcon” basic module:• Speedy configuration and commissioning with a user-friendly GUI and fast data access.• Enhanced system availability benefiting from selective analysis tools (especially for trouble- shooting).• Complete system documentation can be generated: device parameterization, filling diagrams, measuring data, etc.• Secure data administration (save, archive).• Easy-to-use comparison function (target/as- is) for various measuring-point parameters for optimizing the instruments.

The following expansion modules provide further support for the users:

“Fieldview”: • Streamlined commissioning, because you can visualize process data in real time (continuous line recorder function with integrated data-export and archiving func- tions, see screenshot).

Flowmeters have become increasingly popular for filling and bottling in the course of recent years because given today’s requirements, the techniques used in the past (e.g. piston-type bottlers) can no longer sustain competitiveness.

In recent years, for example, the PET bottle has become all-pervasive in the beverages industry and has revolutionized the filling and bottling sector. The heat employed in washing causes PET bottles to deform. This change in volume gave rise to the necessity of using modern, high-precision meters for bottling beverages.These applications, moreover, are subject to daily more stringent requirements in terms of hygiene, cleaning and optimum process control.

Endress+Hauser has responded to these challenges by developing Dosimag and Dosimass - two flowmeters designed speci-fically for the needs of the filling and bottling industry. Both these meters make for reliable filling and bottling with all sorts of fluids in industries of all kinds:

A picture-book example of savings:

A company in the cosmetics industry has installed a new bottling system with state-of-art metering technology and has succeeded in saving 2 grams of a certain product per filled bottle.

The system can fill 180 bottles a minute. Assuming an average of 16 working hours per day, a five-day week and forty-five working weeks a year, this adds up to annual savings of 77,760 kilograms.

If, say, the quantity per bottle were 250 grams these product savings would suf-fice to fill an additional 311,040 bottles, which would then be available in the high-street stores!
