Petersburg. As the group will be coming from different capitals
around Australia, we will all meet at a designated Hub en-route
to St Petersburg Airline and schedule to be advised
Day 2 Tuesday 14 June 2016
Arrive St PetersburgArrive St Petersburg Airport and meet with an English speaking
representative who will assist in finding the coach and
transferring us to our hotel.
Check in at the hotel on arrival, then the remainder of the day is
free before enjoying a welcome dinner at the hotel with our

Day 3 Wednesday 15 June 2016
St PetersburgThis morning we will have a half day guided panoramic
orientation tour of the city. See all the major sights of this
beautiful city, including the world-renowned Hermitage
Museum, housed in the Winter Palace, Peter and Paul Fortress
and pass along Nevsky Prospect. St Isaac’s cathedral is also
on our route, as well as the Church of the Spilled Blood.
Included is a visit to Peter and Paul Fortress (entrance
included), a fort which guards the city of St Petersburg, located
on the island, facing the Hermitage and dominating River Neva.
Built as a fortification during the Russian-Swedish war, it was
never used as a fortress and its bastions were turned into
political prison cells. There a son of Peter the Great, Prince
Alexei, a famous pretender to the throne, Princess Tarakanova,
writer Radischev, Decembrists and revolutionaries were held as
prisoners. of Russian rulers since 1725. Peter and Paul
Cathedral, designed by Tresini, contains the remains. Return to
the hotel after the tour or you may stay in the city for further
exploration and make your own way back to the hotel. (B)

Day 4 Thursday 16 June 2016
St PetersburgDepart our hotel for a full day excursion to Catherine’s Palace
and the Hermitage Museum Visit one of St Petersburg’s most
prized Palaces; in the town of Pushkin (formerly Tsarskoye
Selo) 29km south of St. Petersburg, is Catherine’s Summer
Palace (entrance included). The construction of the palace for
the Empress Catherine started in 1717. A park in the French
style was laid out around the palace and, in the middle of 18th
century, Tsarskoye Selo became the official royal residence.
This palace is famous for the ‘Amber Room’, now completely
restored to its former glory. Not far from the Catherine’s Palace
there is the Lyceum where the great poet Alexander Pushkin
studied.
This afternoon visit the Hermitage Museum (entrance included)
– the magnificent collection of art in the winter palace of
Catherine the Great. One of the largest museums in the World,
founded in 1764; its collection includes over 2.7 million items,
including masterpieces of Leonardo Da Vinci, Raphael, Rodin,
Rembrandt, Rubens, French impressionists, – a feast for art
lovers. (B)

St Petersburg to MoscowCheck-out of the hotel this morning then there is free time until
your early afternoon departure transfer from the hotel to the
Leningradsky Rail Station for your journey from St Petersburg
to Moscow on the high speed Sapsan train which departs St
Petersburg at 4.30pm, arriving at approximately 8.45pm where
we will meet with a local representative for assistance to
transfer to your hotel where we’ll enjoy Dinner at the hotel.(B, D)

Day 6 Saturday 18 June 2016
MoscowThis morning we will have a full day orientation tour of the city,
starting with a tour, on foot, of some of the spectacular
underground metro stations in Moscow, known as the
‘Palaces of the People’ when they were first built. You will be
amazed at the beautiful sculptures, bronzes, mosaics and
crystal chandeliers.
Detailed Itinerary
Later, by coach, we will see some of the famous landmarks and
places to which you may return at your leisure. The tour sights
include Red Square, the Kremlin, Sparrow Hills, Bolshoi
Theatre, Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, Victory Park,
Novodevichy Convent, the White House and the famous
Moscow streets. (B)

MoscowMeet your guide this morning for a half day tour to the famous
landmark of the city, the magnificent Kremlin (entrance
included).
Within the territory is the fascinating Armoury Museum
(entrance included), your guide will include a visit to this
spectacular collection of costumes, silver and arms amongst a
vast treasure trove of exhibits.
Return to the hotel after the tour or you may stay in the city for
further exploration and make your own way back to the hotel.

Day 8 Monday 20 June 2016
Moscow to SuzdalToday we travel to Vladimir, a magnificent city founded in 1108.
The City of Vladimir is one of the oldest Russian communities.
It is located in the heart of the historic Vladimir region and for
the better part of two centuries it was the capital of ancient Rus.
Vladimir is now considered one of the major members of the
Golden Ring of communities which have played a significant
role in Russian history.
During our time here we will visit the superb Uspensky, or
Assumption Cathedral,
which used to be a mother church of medieval Russia in the
13th and 14th centuries. It is part of the World Heritage Site
entitled White Monuments of Vladimir and Suzdal.
We then continue to Suzdal, visiting its Kremlin, onion-domed
monastery and beautiful open-air museum of wooden
architecture before checking in at our hotel. Enjoy Dinner at the

Suzdal to YaroslavlToday we explore the picturesque town of Kostroma, which
was once the most important trade and handicraft centre in
Russia and is situated at the crossing of the Volga and the
Kostroma rivers.
Kostroma is one of the most ancient towns of Russia, almost as
old as Moscow. In recent years, it has gained more popularity
among tourists due to amazing architecture and renascent
grand monasteries supported by the state for the purposes of
restoration.
The region’s craftsmen have always had a reputation of perfect
constructors, icon painters, skinners, smiths, jewellers and
weavers.
Proceed to Yaroslavl, where your city tour includes the superb
Transfiguration Monastery. (B)

Yaroslavl to MoscowThis morning, visit the beautiful city of Rostov, founded in
862AD and famous for its enamel work. Stop briefly in the
picturesque town of Pereslavl-Zalessky before proceeding to
Sergiyev Posad, where you can visit the incredible Monastery
of Trinity - St Sergius.
Tonight we check into our hotel which is just a short walk from
the Venue for the 2016 World Dog Show and bid our local
guide good-bye as we prepare to enjoy the next few days of
Dog Show Fun. Dinner at the hotel. (B, D)
