World Cafe

• Aim – to gain the inputs and contributions from as many people as possible on the topic of discussion

• Topic - the 8 focus areas from the MTR

• Process – structured chaos with an emphasis on creativity

• Coffee – yes, during the break!

Process

8 tables – each to discuss one of the key focus areas from the MTR

Choose to sit at any table – roughly the same no. of people at each

Table Host will introduce themselves & the topic & takes note of key points

Discussion structured along the S-W-OT analysis

Discuss for 20 minutes – at the signal move to a new table – free choice. Table Host remains.

Process continued

• Table Host at new table briefly covers what was discussed before

• Discussions add-on to what was discussed before – different opinions can develop!

• Roughly 5 rounds of rotation• Hosts present main points in

plenary.

• Recommendations on how to respond to the items identified in the SWOT analysis

• These will feed into the discussions tomorrow & Friday on the focus areas

• Important for the 2013 work plans

• Paves the way for the next Strategy process
