• the encouragement of a questioning spirit• an extensive range of academic subjects in all major subject
groups• quality and depth of provision across all subjects• the close inter-relationship between teaching, scholarship,
and research• strong support for individual researchers as well as research
groups• residence in Cambridge as central to most courses• education which enhances the ability of students to learn

Top Ten Libraries Based on Building
http://emilysingley.net/top-10-academic-library-websites-2014/
Many researchers perceive that libraries give greater priority to support for teaching and learning than research; and librarians tend to agree:
81% of librarians think that the teaching and learning needs of people in their own institutions are “very important” in driving library policy.Researchers’ Use of Academic Libraries and their Services (2007) pg. 12

Radical Collaborations
Ten Simple Rules To Combine Teaching & Research
1. Strictly budget your time for teaching and for doing research2. Set specific teaching and research goals3. Don’t reinvent the wheel4. Don’t try to explain everything5. Be shameless in bringing your research interests into your teaching6. Advance your career from bringing your research into your teaching7. Compromise, compromise, compromise8. Balance administrative duties with your teaching and research
workload9. Start teaching early in your career10. Budget time for yourself too
Continuous Innovation
Over recent years the academic library community has identified data curation as one of the top ten trends. Some academic libraries are already engaged in these activities, and others are examining ways they can best provide a range of research data services.
