The use of premium IOLs places additional demands on the physician in the level of accuracy needed to deliver the benefits of premium IOL platforms. For example, research has shown that a 10-degree misalignment of a toric IOL can cause a one-third decrease in the desired effect of correcting corneal astigmatism.
