Colombia Offshore—Challenges and Opportunities for an Emerging Industry WORKSHOP This workshop will provide an opportunity to exchange of ideas to best leverage technology, processes, and lessons learned from other offshore regions. The American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) and Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) are committed to promoting the dissemination and transfer of technical knowledge, and improving the offshore exploration and operation of oil resources in the region. The workshop will focus on topics that are relevant to Colombia and the region’s emerging challenges through discussions about: • Lessons learned and best practices from other offshore regions, both shallow and deepwater • Environmental impact with technology and practices from other offshore regions • Social responsibility issues associated with the offshore industry • Discussion on the present Colombia, Peru and Ecuador offshore challenge.
