How to use this workshopinspection checklist

Use this checklist to inspect engineeringworkshops used for research, teachingor maintenance, and any associatedstorage areas. Include associatedcorridors, stairs and communal areassuch as toilets and kitchenettes/tea

    rooms.

Inspections should be carried out at

least twice per year and preferably onceper term. Inspections should be donewhen workshops are occupied by sta and students, to get a true picture of

    conditions and practices.

Consider getting a team together to help

you. The team should be limited to fourpeople and could include specialist sta in electrical, laser or radiation hazards if
