Radio Workshop

This is a long term Project. It will take a long time to get it running smoothly, if ever. But it is also a Project, which will be always new, and ever changing as the participants and contents change. The radio program must be something very much alive always growing with the new ideas given by all the members. The objective, to have fun while communicating and becoming part of a team inside the Centre and, hopefully also communicating and very much becoming part with the world outside.

Beginning to walk

The objectives of this Project are varied:*1. Ludic. It can be great fun for all the members of the workshop.*2. Communication. Not just among the workshop participants but also with the world outside… A thought comes to mind: “There are people out there ready to listen to whatever we have to say” *3. Pride for a well-done job. This comes automatically as the people take charge of their sections and the program improves little by little thanks to the work of all.*4. This Project also requires the opening of a page in Internet, In Facebook or any other social net. All the programs could be published there and any friend could have access to them.

CRAFTS WORKSHOP

• The volunteers sit and talk with the people working there.

• They ask questions about the work they do and the progress they make at the workshops.

• Most of the time, it is not even necessary to ask anything as they are more than ready to talk and tell their stories and establish a relationship with the volunteers.

• Helping them, talking with them, admiring their work and above all just being there. Being with them. With or without words.

CONCLUSIONS

• Excellent reception by the Director of Education, teachers and workers, facilities and good attention to the volunteers, who have received two training sessions.

• The majority of the senior volunteers already had experience with dependent or disabled people.

• Methodology: The volunteers have had to search the tools most appropriate for each group. In one case, with simple illustrated cards from a deck. In others with pictures of animals and plants, microphones, etc. These first approaches could translate as a contact without artifice, of natural and simple way.

• To spread the works is a target of the Foundation. Possible exhibitions in Centers of education, (Institutes, Universities, etc.) and other companies or institutions. (Painting exhibitions have already been made)

• This project is starting, so the expansion of future workshops and improvements will require more volunteers, with greater involvement by all.
