(CIP) of the dti• Administered by the IDC’s CTCP (Clothing and Textiles
Competitiveness Programme) desk• Objectives: to build and improve capacity in the
manufacturing and related value chain• R280 516 525 over a five year period, R69 million is directly
funded• Other funders: National Skills Fund (NSF), Small Enterprise
Development Agency (SEDA)• The NFLC is housed at the Vaal University of Technology• The NFLC purchased and own technology demonstration
equipment, used by sub-national clusters• The NFLC is stakeholder driven
Vision & Mission
To build and improve capacity in the manufacturing and related value
chain of the footwear, leather and leather goods sectors in South Africa –
and strengthen skills development and product development through design.
For NFLC (National Footwear and Leather Cluster) to become more competitive through innovation, skills development and technology transfer.
