PREZ’S Turn Hi all,
Once again there is a lot happening at the club, some of which is quite exciting. Firstly let me say I need your Help, it is vitally important that our Show in October is a big success. Good triumphant advertising, that does not cost a fortune is imperative. That is where you come in. Very soon I’m going to start putting adds on face book (G.V.Woodworkers) doing it more regularly as the show gets closer. What I need you to do is “simple”, just like and share it each time you see an add for the show, and get your friends to do the same. This will get out to more people than you may think possible. Lets have a quick look at the possibilities, 80 members, with say only 50 friends share it = 4000 then 25% of those share it = 50,000 and so goes the snowball like I say I need your help please get behind it.
I also need ideas for the entertainment hub, I have several and the program is looking good but I need 2 or 3 more idea’s, it is just for a bit of fun something different if you have any ideas talk to me, with a bit of work I think it could be a great new attraction.
I asked at our last meeting for volunteers to do the catering at the show this can be as easy as running a B. B. Q . or as involved as you like, our club needs your help and I bet you will get a lot of fun out of it. It may be something some of our newer members would like to take on?
I’ve got to say things that are happening around the club have got me excited and one of those is the up com-ing show. I saw a video of one of the early woodworking shows and you could just pick the excitement in the air back then. If my feelings are any indication, then the new venue, new time of year, and new futures, this show may just have a fantastic atmosphere, how good would that be? I can’t say much about it yet but it is no secret I have been concerned about our future re clubrooms, (with the Super school). It is very early days yet but we may come out of all this smelling like Rosés. Time will tell but again I’m excited.
Please support our wood show sponsors as much as you possibly can they are important to the success of this show and on going shows. They are:-
MOOROOPNA. H. HARDWARE. M.AKAR AUTOMOTIVE. CARROLL’S WOODCRAFT SUPPLIES
LIBERTY KITCHENS. MAXAM PRINTING. REDBACK PROMOTIONS. SPC FACTORY SALES.
SHEPPARTON PAINTPLACE. HELEN HARRIS – SCROLLSAW
Just as a side note I’m putting in a new kitchen, I saved over $800.00 by using our sponsor Liberty Kitchens.
Toy Work Shop. Another big thanks to our productive members, Some of the toys are now starting to come along very well. Thanks all especially Len for standing in for Marilyn, as she was away.
Raffle Prizes
The raffle prizes are now getting close to being finished and looking good
Keep the chips flying:- Bob

Len. Carried.
It was decided that we will keep the General Meeting Agenda shown up on the tv. Motion Carried.
Treasurers Report read: Chris Moved that the report be accepted and accounts paid. 2nd
. Ray. Carried
Presidents Report: Bob said that Envisage donated some work and supplied the timber for the chairs, so they are
our raffle sponsor. Our Lease runs out in January 2020. With a ten year option.
Everyone is concerned that the lease that we have will run out in 6 months. On reading the lease we still have an
option of another ten years. A Sub Committee has been formed, to see what our options are. We have supported
charities for 35 years so this should hold us in pretty good stead. We need to exercise our option within three
months before our lease runs out. This Sub Committee is Bob, Perry, Len, Barry,Wayne and Rodger.
Raffle Tickets: It was decided that we will keep the raffle tickets at $2 a ticket. There were a lot of rumblings about
the raffle ticket prices. If members are not happy then please go to a committee member and tell them. We need
to know first hand. It is very hurtful for the Committee members when there is talk behind our backs. The commit-
tee is 100% behind money making proposals. Site holders for the Woodshow will pay a fee of $50. Any members
holding selling from their site will be asked to give 10% of their sales on the day.
Mooroopna Hardware have taken up our naming rights. They will be our main sponsor. If they are sponsors then
their site is covered by their sponsorship. The flyers have been done and we have taken 5000. The flyers have
been sent out to our demonstrators. The flyers will be distributed to as many places as possible. We want the
Woodshow to be a great success. We will have an Entertainment Hub that will attract people to it. We could take
a Wooden Dell Horse to some schools and have a competition for the best painted horse. We need to create an
atmosphere that will bring the people to our woodshow. Wayne suggested that we contact a radio station and
ask them to come.
Its all thoughts at the moment but they are great suggestions.
Catering for the Woodshow: We would like volunteers to run the catering for the two days. It has been suggest-
ed that the male Woodworkers go home and ask their wives if they would be interested in doing the Catering.
They would come back with some answers for us within the next fortnight.
General Business: There are nomination forms for election of Committee and these need to be filled out and hand-
ed back to the secretary before the end of 22 of July.
Perry has asked if there are any members that may be able to take some old furniture and hold in storage until we
are able to fix them up. The furniture is in need of some attention and come from a lady who would like the re-
moved before she goes into a retirement village. Please go to Perry if you are able to help out.
Willis: Would like some help to clean out the container and organise for one day to be set so that we can spend
the whole day there sorting it out. It is too big a job for one person.
Don: Asked when we would be doing the bus. It is still on the backburner at this stage.
Len: Went through the demonstrators and asked about our members and asked what we would be doing.
He has a list of demonstrators, so if you can do something then please go and see Len.
Len sent out 30 invites to our Woodshow for our demonstrators.
If you are having a stall then you will need to bring your own tables and also the floor is cement so you will need
to bring a mat to stand on.
There is a Toy workshop on this Saturday 22nd
Jeff has some white paint that we can have.
