MEDIA ALERT for July 8,2013- Sept. 14,2013 Contact: Fitness Depot/ Katherine Parker Phone: 601-765-9511/601-319-8047 Workout for St. Jude event to raise funds for kids battling cancer WHAT: A Workout for St. Jude event is warming up to raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital ® , one of the world’s premier centers for the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases. Members of Fitness Depot Fitness Center will demonstrate their skills during an exhibition to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. There will be a competition between the two gyms to see which facility can raise the most money by utilizing the exampled “Biggest Loser” competitions advertised on the web. For example: competitors will pledge a dollar per pound amount. They will have 3 months to achieve the aspired goal. With-in that time period, they will weigh-in once weekly to monitor thier progress. If they gain or stay the same, they will be penalized a $1.00 fee. At the end of the 3 month period, we will do a final wiegh in for all participants. If they meet their goal, they will be allowed the option to receive $5.00 cash back. If they miss their goal, it will cost them $5.00. In addition to this competition, we will be hosting a weight lifting competition in Sept. in light of Sept. being Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. There will be a $10.00 entry fee for each lifter with-in specified weight classes. There is one more way to help: By simply coming by either Fitness Depot location to pick up a volunteer envelope from one of our staff members. Our goal is $500.00 but I know that with your help, we can exceed this goal. WHEN: July 8, 2013- Sept. 14, 2013 WHERE: Ellisville and Collins Fitness Depot. VISUALS: During this time, there will be allowances made for 15-18 to participate in the weight lifting competition. We will emphasize on free weights, squat racks, and bar bell machines. The Workout for St Jude will emphasize on cardio and diet for over-all well being and fitness. All proceeds will go to St. Jude. like Workout for St. Jude. At St. Jude, families never pay for treatment not covered by insurance and no child is ever denied treatment because of the family's inability to pay. The daily operating cost for St. Jude is $1.5 million, which is primarily covered by public contributions.

This Workout for St. Jude event is sponsored by Fitness Depot in Collins and

Ellisville MS.
