Less than half satisfied with quality of advising process, especially before choosing their major

In 2005 Faculty Survey, a significant number of faculty felt they were not informed enough on how to advise.

This year’s committee

Student/Faculty Interactions- ARC is setting up student faculty lunches on a once a

term basis- ASCIT has ample funds for this, but for one reason or

another they are largely unused.- Suggested to institute advisor-student lunches (possibly

using ASCIT funding) on a once-a-term basis- Also, propose MOSH/ASCIT funded faculty lunches in

the houses

Student/Faculty Interactions- Faculty Guide website is operational, does a lot to inform- A student-led portion of the faculty orientation might be

useful as well- Highlight role of student option reps as complement to

advisors

Athletic uniting- Athletic Department is looking into how sports

teams are united in relation to PE classes- Suggested survey of student-athletes to gather

uniting data

Counseling and tutoring

- Services are not as well publicized as they could be.

- Advisor should have these resources at hand to suggest to student
