  2. 2. Introduction to Solvent Stripper Solvent based stripper is one of the most common type of the stripper used today. Because of its fast action, and long lasting performance it is preferred over the other types of stripper. Most common example of the solvent stripper is the Methylene-chloride that works well almost with all types of resin and thickness. Other examples include : N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP), Dibasic esters (DBEs) Combinations of toluene, acetone and alcohol
  3. 3. Working Solvent based stripper works well till it remain in moist state. This is the reason why most of the solvent stripper are found in gel form After solvent stripper has been dried out, it is recommended to wash out the material with soap and rinse with water using a high pressure washer. While working with the solvent based stripper precision should be taken as some of the stripper are harmful to the human skin.
  4. 4. Stripper Application The stripper need to apply on the surface of the material for two to three times to allow the complete stripping of the material. It completely removes unwanted coating over the material and prepare the material to accept new finish or coating. It is used in the preparation of the material to ensure the easy and fastest way to impart the paint
  5. 5. Hazardous Effect of the solvent based Stripper Solvent stripper may cause damage to the human being. It can stick to the skin and may peel of the skin if not handled carefully. Precision should be taken while handling these strippers.
