What we want to change• There are around 8.3 million disabled people

of working age in the UK.

• The employment rate for disabled people is 48%, compared to 78% for non-disabled people.

• 1 in 5 disabled people (of working age) in the UK are unemployed but want to work, compared to 1 in 15 non-disabled people.

• Disabled people spend around £80 billion per year.

• 34% of disabled adults say employment is a life area in which they experienced a participation restriction.

Mobile (91%), PC ownership (86%) and internet access (87%) are all higher among disabled people in employment compared to the non-disabled average (87%, 79% and 83%) (ofcom survey)

Digitally Excluded Candidates

• Remploy are a registered UK Centre for “Learn my way” services with 59 Remploy branches registered throughout the UK.

• We are developing Digital Champions and Peer mentors within our branch

network.

• We are helping to change candidate behaviours through the running of successful focus group sessions linking to personal hobbies and interests.

• There is a digital inclusion positioning paper awaiting sign-off from Remploy Board for developing Remploy’s inclusion strategy.

• Working closely with the Government Digital Service (GDS) – Digital Inclusion and Assisted Digital Teams to develop this agenda for disabled people.

What is it?

An online self-service portfolio of digital recruitment products and services as part of www.remploy.co.uk that was launched on 22nd April 2014

iRemploy takes the services and support we offer in our branches to a digital audience, providing a pure online or branch/online blended approach to supporting disabled people to find work.

What does it do?

• Gives the user ownership of their own journey by giving them information and tools they can access at their own pace as well as offering guidance on the right activities to do and when to do them.

• Offers a wide range of information and interactive tools to support each user from making the decision they want to work to finding and sustaining employment.

• Offers a live iAdvisor service from 8am to 12am Monday to Friday and 10am to 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
