3 Frequently Asked Questions

3.1 What are the prerequisites for deploying Workforce Analytics on SAP HANA?

Customer’s scope must be limited to metrics based on the supported data sources. Customers must have Employee Central, and EC Advanced Reporting must be implemented in any instance they would like to use. No other modules need to be on SAP HANA.

Please refer to Supported Data Sources in Workforce Analytics on SAP HANA [page 13] and Supported Metrics Packs in Workforce Analytics on SAP HANA [page 14] for further details.

3.2 What is the advantage of implementing to Workforce Analytics on SAP HANA?

The key benefits of deploying Workforce Analytics on HANA are as follows:

3.3 Is there anything in my existing Workforce Analytics solution on SQL Server that cannot be implemented on HANA?

The design of the ETL process for HANA has been optimized to significantly reduce the amount of configuration required to implement metrics packs at the expense of the high level of flexibility for complex data requirements. ● The ability to build a dimension from the structure of another dimension. For example, it is not possible to reliably roll an employee up a supervisor structure if their supervisor is inactive.

In addition, see the list of supported data sources and Metrics Packs referenced in Supported Data Sources in Workforce Analytics on SAP HANA [page 13] and Supported Metrics Packs in Workforce Analytics on SAP HANA [page 14] .

NoteA customer must consult SAP Technical Services team before migrating to Workforce Analytics on HANA to understand the feature of these two solutions.

3.4 Can I change my existing WFA deployment to Workforce Analytics on SAP HANA?

A reimplementation can be done in your test environment before being transferred into Production. It is not currently possible to have both instances built from Production data whilst the SQL Server cube is still in your Production instance. Training for the new features available within Workforce Analytics on SAP HANA can also be organized with our Professional Services team.
