The hospital room of the future incorporatesuniversal design, dynamic elements, and the overlapping of space to merge the clinicalrequirements of a hospital with the look and feelof home, so patients and their visitors are more comfortable during their stay.

Drawing upon the concept of transparency, this Chicago hostel links itself to the community andenhances urban development through the use of a facade that reflects the richness and creativity of the city. Natural light flows throughout making the space feel expansive while offering travelers a sense of safety and welcome.

Completed in collaboration with other studentsand professor Joe Wheeler, this module is a proof of concept undergraduate research projectas an extension of the Virginia Tech LumenHaussuccess, exploring the idea of pre-fabricated, modular housing. As a team member, I have aidedin interior development, revit modeling, interiorrenderings, design build, and conceptpresentation at KBIS in Las Vegas.
