CGIAR Research Programme on Dryland Production Systems on 27-28 August, 2013

IDOs I Major Activity as Existing (2013)

IDOs: I . More resilient livelihoods for vulnerable households in Marginal areas

Activities: 1) Characterize livelihoods and ecosystems and synthesis lessons (prepare survey,

baseline survey : HH survey completed and submitted to ICRISAT and Land use cover mapping done)

2) Identifying combinations of biophysical and management options for reducing vulnerability and mitigation risk (Assess technologies specific to crop, tree, livestock for increasing farmers/system resilience and identify traditional coping/adaptation mechanisms to vulnerability (Private resource persons completed the task and ready to submit)

3) Analyze, within target regions, of the trade offs among options , and knowledge-based systems for customizing options to sites and circumstances (Map and analyze plot and landscape land use/land cover and compare across temporal and spatial scale, soil analysis)

Page 3: Work plans (Group 2) (South Asia)

IDOs II Major Activity as Existing (2013)

IDOs: II. More stable and higher per capita income for intensifiable householdsActivities: 1) Characterize livelihoods and ecosystems and synthesis lessons across potentially

intensifiable systems (prepare survey, baseline survey : HH survey completed and submitted to ICRISAT and Land use cover mapping done)

2) Analyze, within target regions, of the trade-offs among options and knowledge-based systems for customizing options to sites and circumstances (Pilot an improved common proerty resources, and management practices

IDOs III Major Activity as Existing (2013)

IDOs: 1. More resilient livelihoods for vulnerable households in Marginal areas

Activities: Analyze, within target regions, of the trade offs among options , and knowledge-based

systems for customizing options to sites and circumstances (Map and analyze plot and landscape land use/land cover and compare across temporal and spatial scale, soil analysis)(HH and land use cover data completed submitted to ICRISAT)

IDOs VI Major Activity as Existing (2013)

IDOs : More integrated , effective and connected service delivery institution

Activities : Identify and implement models and approaches for strengthnisng and service delivery systems
