To-Do List:
A business major’s dorm room is lit only by the glow of his laptop. He’s
putting the finishing touches on an end-of-semester assignment. Only
he knows that this isn’t just an assignment. Its a business plan for the
company he dreams of starting one day.
An architecture student stares at a studio wall full of photos she took
of skyscrapers in downtown Chicago earlier that day. Each black and
white inspires her to give painstaking attention to her own work,
knowing that greatness is in the detail.
A music performance major rubs his hands to prevent them from
cramping. The rest of the pianos in the rehearsal rooms are now silent,
but he knows he’s far from done. He doesn’t want to just get through
his senior recital tomorrow, he wants to savor every note.
A chemistry major stands at a whiteboard with three other students.
They present the results of their research to their peers and a demanding
professor. They’re nervous, but they know that their research isn’t just
going to give them a grade, it’s actually giving developing countries
methods for sustainable farming that will mean the difference between
starvation and survival.
Somewhere on the JudsonUniversity campus, a studentis working harder than theyever have before.

PRACTICAL SKILLS
Judson University understands thattoday’s world is changing at anexponential rate. Judson providesnationally recognized academicprograms that give students thetools to meet the diverse challengesand opportunities that await themupon graduation.
Foundational Learning: The undergraduate academic programs
at Judson University are rooted in the guiding ideas and values
of the school’s founders. Among these is the belief that God
has given us a picture of who He is through the world He has
created. As we explore, discover, and gain knowledge about
the world, we gain an ever-expanding picture of God Himself.
LIBERAL ARTS
Now is the time for a liberal arts education. Today’s changing economy and environment
demand more leadership skills and critical thinking development than mere job training.
Judson’s liberal-arts education is one of the finest in the country, teaching students
how to interact, understand, and engage in a complex world.
Whether they are in the classroom, the dorms, the chapel, the cafeteria, or the
community, anywhere and everywhere that students are gathering,
discussions with peers and faculty will help students shape new
understandings of who they are and what they believe in. Judson students
will graduate prepared to create not only successful careers, but successful lives.

MAJOR
Each major at Judson University establishes a firm foundation of
both knowledge and experience for the student in their chosen
area of study. The faculty and staff at Judson are pioneers and
practitioners in their areas of concentration, and bring incredible
real-world experience to each class they teach.
Judson currently offers four graduate programs:
• Master of Education
• Master of Education in Literacy
• Master of Architecture
• Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership
The four graduate programs are practitioner-based,
designed for those who bring their own undergraduate
education and life experience into the classroom.
Judson University is committed to providing graduate
programs that not only build upon the education of each
students undergraduate work, but prepare graduate-level
students to be “best in their field” educators, architects, and
leaders who will shape the world around them.
ABOUT GRADUATE PROGRAMS
Students working on post-
baccalaureate degrees provide
an increased focus and intensity
to Judson’s academic programs.
This focus, mixed with the
enthusiasm and desire for
exploration found in Judson’s
undergraduates, creates an
exciting and dynamic
environment for learning found
only when both levels of
education are being provided
on the same campus.
Our campus serves as the backdrop
for these sacred moments. Great
attention is given to preserving and
enhancing the natural beauty of
Judson University’s campus, and
great intentionality has gone into
the design of its buildings and
campus layout. Judson seeks to
create an environment where
students discover greater levels
of learning aided by their
surroundings.
Our student body is as diverse
as the education we offer. Our
community is broadened and
enriched by the wide range of
backgrounds of our students—
representing at least 25 different
countries. These varied backgrounds
bring life experiences that, when
shared, cause students to learn not
only from Judson’s faculty and staff,
but from one another.
Our mission is to develop
undergraduate students who
understand the central importance
of service to the world around them.
Given a wide variety of opportunities
to serve the community around them,
Judson students gain a deep sense
that their education is not meant to
serve only themselves, but the
greater good of society, and the
establishment of God’s kingdom
on Earth.
We believe that education isn’t found just sitting in a
classroom. It’s found in each and every moment, as God
speaks to students through the people, places and
experiences around them. Judson seeks to create the best
environment possible for God to work in this way.
Education = = Education
The world is your classroom through JudsonU. Making the choice to study abroad can be one
of the most life-changing experiences for a student. The administration at Judson University firmly
believes this, and that is why they continue to develop a wide variety of opportunities for Judson
students to study around the world. In addition to several stateside programs, students can find
study abroad opportunities in nearly every major and nearly every continent—from Europe to
Africa to Asia and South America.
Nearly 6 percent of our traditional student body are international students and 40 percent of
our faculty have extensive international experience. Whether you’re on campus or off, coming
to Judson is a global experience.
WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH A DEGREE FROM JUDSON UNIVERSITY?
While we don’t know precisely where God will lead each Judson
student upon graduation, we do have a clear picture where Judson
alumni’s personal and professional journeys will take them...

Core courses taught me language and concepts that I
continue to use daily. My education at Judson gave me a
great foundation from which to continue to educate
myself and grow a career.
MAJOR: Visual Communications
YEAR:2006
MOST BENEFICIAL CLASS:
Drawing I—I learned all the essentials there.
BEST PLACE ON CAMPUS TO WORK/STUDY: My studio spaceUNIQUE FACT: Although I studied Visual Communications, I don’t have just one career. I am always wanting to learnmore skills and explore new options. For example, I amstudying photography right now. Judson planted a seed inme to learn and try new things to take my professionalexperience in new directions.
Bethany A. Marshall Ph.D, Psy.D., LMFTMARRIAGE & FAMILY THERAPIST / AUTHOR, DEAL BREAKERS
I am a Marriage and Family Therapist and Psychoanalyst
in private practice in both Pasadena and Beverly Hills,
California. My years at Judson were some of the best
moments of my life. They taught me what it was like to
be part of a loving community. The things I learned will
always be with me. Like Dr. Ted Hsieh’s statement that all
relationships are based upon commerce. Although I
couldn’t digest it at the time, this concept influenced my
book Deal Breakers. Another experience that I cherish is
singing at Judson...I still long to sing and be in a choir.

Judson not only gave me a good foundational knowledge of

SPORTS
Like professional sports? There
are few cities that offer as much
in every sports season as
Chicago. The Cubs, Sox, Bulls,
Bears, Blackhawks, Chicago Fire
to name a few–all just a train or

ENTERTAINMENT
Still not sure if Chicago lives up
to the hype? Check a list of live

OUTDOORS
Don’t get the impression that
Chicago is all about the brick
and mortar, steel and glass of
the downtown skyscrapers. The
city is just as much about the
incredible (some say Great) Lake

gardens of Millenium Park, the
miles of winding bike paths,
scenic hiking trails, and stunning
forest preserves.

FOOD
Oh, so you’ve heard about
Chicago-style pizza? But what
about the Chicago-style hot
dog? The Maxwell Street
Polish sausage? What about
dozens of Asian, Mexican,
Cuban, Italian and Eastern
European restaurants–all in
the same neighborhood? Yes,
it’s that good. Thankfully,
Judson has a great fitness

SHOPPING
In case you didn’t know,
there’s a stretch of Michigan
Avenue in Chicago called the
Magnificent Mile. Imagine
looking up at some of the
greatest buildings in the
country as you experience
some of the greatest
shopping you’ll ever find. It
truly is magnificent.
Standing at the edge of Navy Pier, or
walking up and down State Street
explains why a few million people
choose to call Chicago home. For one,
it’s beautiful. There’s a reason filmmakers
shoot here, artists come here for
inspiration, and architects realize
life-long dreams to design buildings
here. The city and its surrounding
suburbs (like Elgin) provide the perfect
place for the lines between learning,
fun, and life-changing experience to
mesh in the best possible way.
It’s the bump-into-one-another, tell-me-your-story-I’ll-tell-you-mine way of
living and learning that makes Judson unique. Being a student at Judson is about
more than just going from class to class, it’s also about experiencing life (the
highs, the lows, the middles) together...Late-night dorm room conversations—about big ideas and ways to change
the world—shape who you’re becoming. Random encounters at lunch with
people from Iowa/New York/Japan/South America remind you the world is
bigger than you ever thought possible. Opportunities to see and hear somebody
else’s picture of God in turn add some color and detail to your own picture.
The Judson community means the possibility that the new transfer student
sitting next to you in class (you don’t even know their name yet) might end up
being not just your friend, but your best friend for the rest of your life.

Professor Tom Voigt has an
incredible way of sharing his

Dr. Pete Sandberg had the biggest

Somewhere on the JudsonUniversity campus, a studentis making a memory that will last a lifetime.A 5’9” point guard hits a game-winning three-pointer. The crowd erupts. As

every wind sprint was worth it.
A freshman from small-town Iowa lays wide awake in bed. It’s well after 2AM,
