Work Completion Reports During Coaching sessions this week, all students have been issued with their Mid Term 1 Work
Completion reports. These provide a quick snapshot view of whether students are up to date and
working to their potential in all of their classes. Parents and carers are asked to discuss these
progress reports with students, celebrate success and negotiate strategies where improvement is
required.
All students can access tutor, study and homework support at the Study & Enrichment Centre from
3pm Monday to Thursday in the Year 12 study area. Participation and attendance at this
partnership program between our College and the into Uni and Polly Farmer programs is an ideal
way in which students can catch up and establish effective study habits in a supportive
environment.

Year 12 Camp 2015
A camp for Year 12 students has been planned for early Term 2. The aim of the camp is to provide
a pleasant and constructive time for staff and students to get to know each other better, with
some serious thought development on time management, study strategies and student’s goals and
aspirations for the year. The camp will also focus on the students’ leadership role within the
College. The camp will be staffed by Year 12 teachers, mentors, senior staff, Girls Academy and
Clontarf staff.
Please note that they will be normal school days.
All students are expected to attend. To achieve this, two precious school days have been set aside
and we urge all students to use this time to their best advantage. Normal school rules will apply.
More information regarding accommodation and transport will be provided closer to the date.

Gateways Gossip
Hi all and welcome back to the new school year. We have been very busy in Gateways settling in our new Year 10 students and working hard on
completing first assessment tasks already due for both Stage 1 and Stage 2 classes. We have had a good start with all students for the most part
becoming familiar with where they have to be during the day and the different lessons that they have throughout the College. We have also benefited
from having visitors to our College from Indigenous Allied Health Australia (IAHA) who came and had a session with all our Indigenous students
explaining to them that there are many ways in which they can reach their full potential through persistence and going to University if they want to. It
was a very interesting and interactive, all students involved had a great time and were well informed by the end. Thank you to Ann Goodwin for
organizing this. Below are some photographs taken during the visit. We look forward to a great year with lots more exciting things going on in the
coming weeks to share with you all next time around.

Language classes have begun well at Centralian
Senior College. There are a number of students
who have continued with their language studies
from Year 9 at Centralian Middle School, well
done!
Stage 1 Language students continue to improve
their language skills in Chinese, Japanese, Spanish
and Indonesian.
Stage 2 Language students are working very hard
in all language areas and we are very proud of
them. Did you know that completion of a
Language at Year 12 level carries extra bonus
points with you towards university entry?
The consul, from the Japanese consulate Sydney,
visited Japanese Language students at Centralian
Senior College on the 12th of February. Mr
Takaoka met the Year 11 Japanese students and
