This historic 4 star hotel which has welcomed American Presidents, Royalty and world famous poets over the years stands in its own spacious landscaped riverside gardens in the heart of Grasmere village next to the church and with superb views from the comfortable lounges, conservatory, heated indoor swimming pool and terrace. The Wordsworth offers first-class facilities and service for those seeking luxury accommodation, good food and a perfect peaceful setting. Lakeland's world-renowned literary sites are all within easy reach and Wordsworth's home at Dove Cottage is only a short walk from the Hotel. There are great walks from the hotel, from gentle strolls around the lake to Fairfield Horse Shoe, Helm Crag and Helvelyn, we are happy to advise and have maps. Spa and Gym Our large indoor heated pool and Jacuzzi offers the perfect way to unwind and relax after a day of exploring the lakes. The gym has been extended and new equipment installed and the changing rooms refreshed, we will also install a new mixed sauna. For pampering our experienced Therapist Lisa Jayne operates The Lime Health and Beauty Spa from within the hotel. Please advise at time of booking if you would like a treatment so we can make an appointment for you. Directions From the south leave the M6 at Jct 36, follow the A591 through Windermere, following Ambleside. Carry on to Grasmere, where you will turn left into the village. We are in the centre next to the church. From the North leave the M6 at Jct 40, take the A66 to Keswick. Turn off at St Johns in the Vale, then turn into Grasmere village where we are in the centre.
