How much money will Americans spend on Halloween? Oh, nearly $7 billion. That’s a lot of candy, but it’s actually a step down from how much we spent last year on the spooky All Hallow’s Eve. According to the National Retail Federation, last year’s spending was $77.52 per person, compared to this year’s anticipated $74.34 per person. Most of the money spent on costumes are for adults, not kids. Millions of dollars are expected to go toward costumes for our pets. $2.1 billion is expected to go toward candy, but you could make a little money back with a Halloween candy buyback program many dentists nationwide participate in. That candy gets donated to the troops.
