Video Record from anywhere (phone, etc.) ] Create a “movie” with iMovie or even

Video YouTube plays nicely with WP
Paste the link OR embed the i-frame (allows for some great
customization) Paste ?rel=0 at the end of the string to
disallow related videos Vimeo plays nicely, too
Paste the link OR create a shortcode
https://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/vimeo/

Video OR Use a plugin to play video that you
have uploaded to your server/media library
But why? This then has to be served up from your server, instead of YouTube or Vimeo that are created specifically for video servicing

Audio Record audio (use Audacity to edit) Upload to SoundCloud.com Embed by creating shortcode within
Audacity, then paste code onto page (You can change settings on Audacity)

Graphics/Photos: Size& Quality Physical Size
Size on Screen (pixel width & height) Files Size
The size of the file on your hard drive or server
Resolution Pixels per area
File Type Generally .jpg, .gif, and .png (.ico for favicons)

Graphics/Photos: Physical Size Depends on what you want to do with
the file… Display only? Consider the space you
need to fill, and limit the pixel width to that
Need to be able to download for print, etc.? Use a larger pixel image (with the understanding that it will take up more space, and take more time to appear/download

Graphics/Photos:File Size File size is tied to both the physical size
and the resolution. You can have a “small” physical file that is packed with dpi…creating a larger file size, or a small file with low dpi that won’t take up as much room

Graphics/Photos: Resolution Again – resolution will affect how a
photo appears both online and in print. A low dpi may be fine for a small online image…but images that need to be able to be downloaded and printed should be higher resolution (and physical size)

Graphics/Photos: File Type .jpg is generally good for photos, but
does remove some fine detail .gif is better for line art and less fine
detail .png is good for both…and will also
preserve transparency

Graphics/Photos:Resizing Resize by editing the file in the editor window
(drag, or edit by pixel width/height) Resize in media library by determining pixel
width/height Use a plugin like “smushit” to resize photos
already in the library Use a plugin like “resize image after upload”
to automatically resize images as they are added to the library or pages (Great for clients who don’t use good image sizes)

Galleries You can use galleries created within
WordPress (this is not an elegant solution)
You can use a plugin like nextgen gallery (this is my preferred gallery plugin)
MarketedByMichelle.com Michelle Ames
NextGen Gallery Plugin Change the display from thumbnails to
slideshow Change size of images Images will open in a lightbox, right-sized
to the image proportions Can include captions Set number of columns and rows Place the same gallery on multiple pages if
you’d like
