Word 2 - Activity 1

Situation: You have been hired at the i-Phone-u-Phone store. The manager has asked you to create new letter head for the store.

The letterhead should include image of company logo, the store name, company address, phone/fax number, and website address.

Instructions:

Part 1 - Create a letterhead for the i-Phone-u-Phone Store

1. Key in the address, phone and fax numbers, and the website address. After the website address press the Enter button and add two blank lines.

2. Be creative. Its up to you to design the letterhead, however, it must have the following requirements.

a. Change the font style

b. Increase or decrease the font size

c. Change the text color.

3. Add the company logo from the public drive. hint: be sure to change the text wrapping to Tight or Square

4. Use the border button to place a bottom border after the website address.

5. Add a class header/footer

6. Change the document properties

Situation: The manger is preparing to mail out a letter and some information to a potential customer. He has proofread the letter but doesnt have time to make the changes, he would like you to make changes.

Instructions:

1. Open the Word 2 Activity 2 Letter found on the shared drive, make the necessary corrections as shown below.

Situation: Now that you have created letterhead it is time to send out your first letter. The manager has asked you to format the letter he has composed for the grand opening.

Instructions

1. Open the Word 3 Activity 3 Text document from the shared drive

a. Copy the text from the letter and paste it into the letterhead document you created in Word 2-Activity 1.

2. Make the following changes to the letter

a. Insert the date

b. Add the appropriate spacing between each part of the letter. Hint: Turn on the Show/Hide button

3. After the second paragraph key the title Grand Opening Hours of Operation and center between the left and right margin.

4. Set the following tab and then key the hours of operation listed below.

3. Add the appropriate spacing between the parts of the letter

4. Remove the punctuation from the salutation and complementary close

5. After the first paragraph set the following tabs

11. Spell check the document to ensure there are no spelling errors.

a. Copy and paste the letter you just formatted onto the Letterhead.

13. Add a class header/footer

14. Change the document properties

15. Save as Word 2 Activity 4 Letter to student drive in the Computer Tech Folder > Word folder

Instructions:

Using the Word 2 Activity 4 Letter from the previous activity change the letter to modified block style with mixed punctuation.

1. Change the letter to modified block style

a. Date & Signature block should be moved to the 3in position

2. Add mixed punctuation to the Salutation and Complementary close

3. Replace the YOUR NAME in the last paragraph with your name

4. Remove the typists initials

5. Change the document properties

Often times we fail to tell these people just how grateful we are. In this assignment you will write a letter to someone who has influenced your life.

Instructions:

1. Create your own personal letterhead be sure to include your name, address, phone number, and email address. Make the following changes to the text

a. Change the font style to something of your choosing

b. Increase or decrease the font size

c. Change the text color.

2. Add a graphic or clipart hint: be sure to change the text wrapping to Tight or Square

3. Write a 2-3 paragraph letter to someone who has influenced your life.

Be sure to include the date and a signature block (you do not have to put a title after your name)

4. Change the letter to a modified block style

5. Add a class header/footer

1. On your student drive create a folder inside your Computer Tech/Word folder called WORD 2

2. Move all the files you saved for the Word 2 unit into the WORD 2 folder

3. Take a screenshot of the contents of your Word 2 folder

4. Add a class Header/Footer

5. Print the screen shot and attach to your Word 2 packet

6. Save the screenshot to H:/Computer Tech/Word/Word 2 as Word 2 screenshot
